Izzie was feeling the alcohol. But the problem was, she didn't want to feel at all.

She approached the bowl and smiled when she saw Steve standing next to it. "Hi Steven." She said as she filled her cup.

"Still not my name Isabelle." He responded. "You sound like you've had enough to drink."

"I'm not done yet." She responded, taking a sip.

"Izzie you should be careful-"

"Don't tell me what to do." She said quickly, taking her drink and returning to the swarm of people dancing.

Steve was worried about her, he always was. Halloween would always have him worried. He just wished a day Izzie used to love could still be special to her. And he wished he could tell her happy birthday, and make her smile because it was actually happy. He just wanted her to be happy.

Blair was dancing with Izzie, hoping to catch Billy's attention.

"Hey Blair." Izzie giggled. "I think someone is watching you." She said, pointing to the blonde boy once again looking at Blair. She would never know, Blair wasn't the only one with eyes on her. Steve couldn't help his eyes off of Izzie all night. Truthfully, the guilt was consuming him. He couldn't look at Izzie like that. What about Nancy? How could he explain how he felt?

Deep down he knew, he knew he didn't really love Nancy like he wanted to. Because his heart wasn't in it. At least, not with her. His heart would always belong to someone else.

"Do you mind?" Blair asked. "I know it's like bad to leave someone at a party for a guy or whatever."

"Well I am personally rooting for you to get laid tonight. So go." She slurred, swallowing the rest of her drink.

Blair nodded and walked over to him. Izzie watched as the two walked off out the front door. Definitely to his car.

Bored of dancing alone, she started walking towards the kitchen to get more to drink. Along the way, she stumbled into someone. "Izzie?" A boy asked.

"Jonathan!" She smiled. "I didn't know you were coming. Come on I'll get you a drink."

"Oh no." He shook his head. "I have to drive my brother home later."

"Oh." Izzie nodded. "Well, I'm going to get one for myself. I'll come back."

"Are you sure you should drink more? You sound pretty bad." Jonathan asked cautiously.

"You and Steve are like my dads. I'm fine." She slurred in response.

She made her way into the kitchen, and saw Steve once again. This time, with Nancy. Even in her drunken state, she could sense the tension. She wanted to get away with her drink as soon as possible before getting into Steve's girlfriend drama. Normally she would help him out, but tonight she was here for herself.

But she had no choice left when Nancy turned to her and slapped her across the face. "What the hell Nance?!" Steve scorned.

"Are you serious Wheeler?" Izzie snapped, running on a mix of alcohol and grief.

"You deserved that. You let Barb die! It was your fault!" Nancy shrieked.

Izzie laughed. "I didn't leave my best friend outside so I could screw my boyfriend. That was all you."

"You're one to talk Izzie!" Nancy quipped. "We all know that you are out to take Steve from me just like you took Barb!"

Izzie took a sipped from her drink and shook her head. "You're delusional."

"And you're a whore." Nancy came back.

Izzie's fist tightened and she was ready to return Nancy's party favor. Just as she was ready to draw her hand back, Steve jumped between the two, pushing Nancy back. "Nancy that's enough."

As Steve pushed her away, her drink spilled onto her. "The hell?" She scowled, walking away.

Izzie's cheeks were red and tears stung her eyes. She had came here to have a happy time. But instead she was slapped and named called by her best friend's green eyed girlfriend. Steve turned to Izzie to make sure she was okay. Izzie shook her head and pushed him away. "Go control your girlfriend." She choked.

"Izzie-"

"Go." She replied, trying to hide the tears building in her eyes.

Steve entered the bathroom and saw Nancy trying to wipe the stain off her dress.

"That's not coming off." Steve sighed.

"It's coming." She replied reluctantly.

"No Nance-"

"You wanted this." She slurred.

"No I didn't want this, I told you both to stop drinking." Steve defended.

"Bullshit." Nancy responded.

"No it's not." Steve continued.

"No, you're bullshit." Nancy corrected.

"What?" The boy asked.

"You're pretending like everything is fine. Like we didn't kill Barb. Like it's great. Like we're in love. Like you're in love with me. Like we're party yeah let's party." She went on. "We're partying."

"Like we're in love?" Steve asked, the frustration growing in him. "You don't love me?"

"Don't pretend you love me. We know who you really love. And I think it's bullshit." The brunette girl drunkenly scowled.

"I should have never listened to Izzie." Steve shook his head and stormed out the bathroom, looking to find Izzie.

He walked through the party, searching all over for the blonde girl. Not finding her inside or out near the kegs, he was at a loss. The only place left to check was out front. As he looked out, she couldn't see any sign of her. He was going to give up until he heard a muffled cry coming from the side of the house.

He rushed over, hoping to find his best friend. He sighed at the sight of her sitting there. She looked entirely heart broken. Her sobs were heavy and her breathes were short. "Steve." She croaked.

"Izz." He breathed, sitting down beside her. "It's okay."

"I'm sorry. I can't do it. I thought I could." She sobbed, her head falling on his shoulder.

"It's okay. It's okay." He whispered, pulling her into him.

When Izzie first started crying after the fight with Nancy, she didn't think she would ever stop. Between Madi and Nancy or the alcohol she didn't think she could ever stop.

But there, with Steve, she could. She was finally able to breath. "Can we go home." She whispered.

"Yeah. We can go home." Steve replied softly, reaching for the girls hand to help her stand up.

"Steve one more thing." She said, the alcohol present in her speech. "You were right. I'm freezing."

Steve laughed that the girl's slurred words. "I told you." He shook his head. "Take this." He sighed, giving her his jacket as they walked to the car.
