Killer took a deep breath before diving into the deepest part of his memories.

"When I was a kid," He started, slowly and carefully. "I was blessed with both parents. They were just like any other,  they were joyful, passionate, loving..."
Killer furrowed his brows before speaking again.
"Until someone broke that. She left my father for a richer man. It's always about the money." He pulled his knees down.

Nightmare was silently listening to him, he was very curious of his history ever since.

"My papá, after that, started to pour his anger to me. There was no one else to listen to his problems, so he used me instead. He became violent with his words and would spank me whenever I made a mistake." Killer then closed his eyes, creating a more deeper dive into it. "He raised me with insensitivity. I grew up knowing that I had to be number one in everything. He wanted me to be at the very top to make him proud, but his rules were always disobeyed."

"Why?" Nightmare asked.

"I've never reached the top. It's always second or third, I was never first in anything. That's why I always get a beating from papá. " He chuckled softly, "Up until now, even after entering high-school, I still couldn't reach that unity. My whole life all I did was study and study for that. I was overjoyed when I found out that I was one of the best rookie sophomores that made it to the Top 10. But I guess I hoped too much. I even aced all my exams but Sci was still fairly better than me."

Nightmare couldn't help but wonder, how long had he been hiding this to everyone. He knew the other alone wouldn't want his reputation be affected before, but he thought maybe it was better to remove some weight on his back.

"I barely even made it to the Student Leadership Team, I was only ahead by 2 votes. I had the least votes in the team. Being student council President doesn't really mean I've accomplished my goals, it only gave me power and superiority." Killer sighed forcefully, his head now hung low.

Nightmare then realized how unfortunate the other's life is. He mused at what the other had just said, thinking why Killer didn't hate him even after surpassing his rank all the time. He felt a little guilty for ranking top 1, but his excellent skills were already his second nature, and there's nothing he can do to reverse it.

The area now fell silent, Killer wasn't spitting a single word anymore, he was already very tired and exhausted.
Nightmare then felt like he had to do something even if it affects his own pride and dignity, especially if it's about friendship. He stood up and faced the door, grabbing onto the doorknob and twisting it open. It revealed Killer, now burying his head in his knees while his arms wrapped around it. He entered the room, uninvited, and sat on the floor next to his friend.

For a moment it was quiet, turns out Nightmare wasn't ready for this. He had his brows furrowed the whole time, thinking of a way to give Killer some hope. He finds it disgusting to spread this kind of idea but he had to for his friend.
Never in his life did he ever comfort anyone before, so he was sort of new to this kind of thing. He tried to place his palm on Killer's shoulder while looking at him. "You're bad at this." Killer insulted.

"Shut the hell up, I'm doing my best!" Nightmare exclaimed, his face heating up from embarassment. Nightmare scoffed before looking away, sighing deeply, "You don't have to make everyone proud. Just do what feels right. That's what I've been doing."
