Stretching slowly, I take in the new environment. Yawning, I pull the covers back over myself.
"7:15, too early", I mumble to myself closing my eyes again.
The door opens, it's that lady again .
"Good morning Marissa, right on time , I see", she nods at her . A nod of approval
"Miss Meyers! Are you still in bed?! How could you sleep through the morning bells? Marissa - why didn't you wake her"
"Ma'am I tried, I really did, she's just so difficult"
The look the girl gives me tells me two things- she never tried to wake me, and also quite frankly, she's a bitch. She really let me sleep till almost breakfast time?
I had planned to set my alarm, I guess I forgot.
"Sorry Ma'am", I whisper throwing off my covers.
"This is your second time breaking the rules. I'll get someone to show you around, starting tomorrow, an exemplary student who'll guide you, make sure you do everything right. Marissa here is quite a model student but too busy to tolerate your antics. In the mean time, you've deprived yourself of free time today, you'll spend one hour of your free time with me. I'll send someone to get you when it's time. Also, unpack your clothes. Your room is nothing less than a mess! "
"Sorry Ma'am", I mumble embarrassed. It's not my fault Marissa's clothes are in my wardrobe.
I look at Marissa who's grinning as she grabs her bag and walks out for breakfast, I'm guessing.
I'm glad after supper, the lady came back after her first outburst to give me a brief tour of the building, showed me to the cafeteria and at least the main office where I have to finalise a few things. I already have my schedule.
After she leaves, it's past breakfast time. I didn't eat last night and I missed breakfast too? I won't survive till lunch.
Taking the quickest shower I could master, I pull on loose dress pants and a simple blouse looking as basic as possible. I have no time to do my hair and it's such a mess so I pull it into a ponytail ignoring the strands that are all over the place.
I grab my bag, shove necessities into it and walk quickly into the hallways of the main building.
Rushing out of the room, I noticed a guy walking in the hallway, looking over his shoulder and around. I think he's making sure nobody's around because I think I remember quite clearly that boys aren't typically allowed in here.
I walk behind him. Hearing my footsteps, he freezes, turning around slowly .
Bad move, if I was a teacher, he'd have been in deep shit. My first instinct hearing footsteps would've been to sprint out of the building.
"Don't tell a soul", he says in a threatening tone
"Why not?", I tilt my head to stare at him fighting off a grin
"Don't try me- what are you? Freshman?"
"No!"
"Then you know who I am-", he smirks. Nope - no. He can't be acting like this is a cliché movie scene. He probably thinks he's some "badboy". Probably a player too.
"No I don't", I shrug. This school doesn't have so many students, at least the high school section, since they're so picky with their selection. It makes me wonder how I even got in.
"Wait report me. Get both of us in trouble, they'll assume we were together doing you know stuff-- since we're both late and well your hair's quite a mess"
