Vanessa
I stay with Mandy and Nico at lunch though a couple of Nico's friends passed by to talk to him and to ask him why he wasn't sitting with them.
Thankfully he didn't leave. He claims we're a breath of fresh air and it's much easier being himself because we're just two people. He's easy to talk to, fun, outgoing. He fits right in with us. Mandy too has tons of people she's chill with on campus so some of her friends sat for a bit at the table to give her gossip and then left us three.
Right now, my mission is to get to the soccer pitch . Jason's there which means my phone is there too I think. I can't believe I'm doing what he asked so easily but I need my phone.
"Nico!"
"Miss me already?", he asks slamming his locker shut. We didn't have the last period together
"You wish. I just thought I'd say bye."
"Well you're going to see me this evening. Can I sit with y'all again? Of course whether you agree or not, I will."
"You can sit with us", I smile
"But..."
"Oh no -", I mumble
"It's nothing serious. A couple of my friends are looking for excuses to sit with us not just because they want to sit with me....", he trails off
"What other reason is there?"
"They think you and Mandy are hot. They'll try to hit on you guys", he reveals
"You can't be serious ", I roll my eyes. They'll probably be hitting on Mandy. If they come to me, it'll be because I'm a new face.
"Unfortunately I am. I wonder what they're seeing in you two", he says. I can hear the obvious playfulness in his tone. I smack him with my books
"Why so violent woman?!", he complains. I realise then how nice his accent is. Very posh.
"Don't let me hit you", I warn. He looks at my fisted hands before bursting into laughter
"How cute", he says ruffling my hair
"I'm heading to the soccer pitch", I tell him
"What for?", he asks confused. I narrate the story that led to Jason taking my phone.
"Well that sucks. Come on I'll walk you there", he says grabbing my books from my hands to help me
The soccer pitch is bustling. Okay well not bustling but there are people there. I think their training is about to start but I don't see any coach around just yet.
"Hey what do you do after school? I haven't found any extracurricular yet"
"I swim, professionally ", he shrugs as if it's the simplest thing in the world.
"What do I do?", I groan annoyed
It's a must that I do an extracurricular. School policy. There's way too many options.
"Don't ask me, ask yourself "
"You're such a great help..thanks", I roll my eyes.
"So there's a group of boys who look like they want to murder me?", as soon as Nico says that I look towards the players to see who he's talking about.
"This is fun!", Nico chuckles a spring in his step. He's such a child.
"Jason can't do anything ", I shrug forcing myself to believe it. The only thing he might do is tease me. A lot.
"Jason giving me 'don't talk to her' look but Max, this isn't his business, why is he glaring at me? Because Jason is? Joey's just staring , can't read him as always but the last member of their group, Simon, he looks amused"
