Shopping actually went far worse than I imagined. If I thought she was scary before, now I'm convinced I was wrong. My mother's nothing less than a maniac. She's obsessed with clothes. No wonder she loves her work so much.

We were buying something from every store. I had received nasty glares from so many shop attendants. It's no fault of mine. It's just that mom picks thousands of clothes...if they have that much, I take my time trying on the few I actually like, and pretend to consider the rest just to please mother. But hey...i can't help it.  They probably think I'm just wasting their time.

Another set of clothes to remain untouched in my closet for at least three months. Sigh...

"Ooh let's go in here", mom grins. Hand bags. At least with this I don't have to stress too much.

"Mum..", I whine. I'm exhausted, my feet hurt and worst of all, my phone died . I think it made her very very happy.

"Just get a cute purse at least or maybe a couple to tie your new outfits together. Hurry. We still have heels and sneakers. Oh I almost forgot Victoria's secret", she grins wiggling her eyebrows while I resist the urge to facepalm. What was more difficult was resisting the urge to just sprint out of the store and find some food haven to rest in until she's exhausted and ready to go home

I groan and tell her to pick whatever she thinks is best and well...she went crazy again.

I walk outside the store thinking of where to head to while she swiped her card with no care in the world .

But well the universe seems to hate me. Thinking I had escaped my mom, ready to roam free, I see you familiar mop of black hair. My cousin - the devil's spawn.

He basically lives in the mall. Either he's with friends or doing some part-time job or he's hanging out with some girl he met or he just wants to avoid his mother. I forgot that tiny detail when I started roaming.

Currently, last I heard from my aunt, he messed up his sister's new laptop pretty bad so she's making him work to pay for it even though she can easily foot the bill. A good "lesson", she calls it. He whined about it for days but it all fell on deaf ears which annoyed him, but made me very happy.

He just pisses me off honestly. Maybe because he's always been a thorn in my flesh. And thinks it's fun to bully me

"Nesssieeee", he squeals like a kid skipping towards me. Oh hell no

"Jason"

See with him, I don't even try to hide my displeasure. Mainly because he knows I harbor many many hard feelings.

His grin is still in place. I just want to break his nose and mar that face. Evil and violent - yes but for someone I could've considered my "brother", he brings out the absolute worst in me.

"What's up?"

"Aren't you supposed to be working at some store?"

"I took the day off to hang out with the guys. They'll be here in a bit including your crush-"

"Shut up "

He just has this crazy assumption that I have a crush on our mutual friend. I mean there's a tiny bit of truth in it..but it was years ago! But he's not letting it go and worse, he doesn't fail to embarrass me in front of his friends. They're all just a year older than me.

"Who.are you here with?", he asks.

"Mom"

He looks surprised but he nods slowly. He'd have thought Ellie or Ethan probably.

"Aunt. Over here", he shouts causing my mom to send him a subtle glare as she puts on some shades. Two people are following her with so many bags as if I'm not holding enough

"Jason. You need not be loud Hun", she says before embracing him.

I roll my eyes again. My escape plan failed because of him and now he and my mom are having precious bonding time.

"I took the liberty of finishing up the shopping. Besides there's still what I brought from the trip for you", mom nudges me.

"Yayyy", I say with all the enthusiasm I can force out.

"Jason make yourself useful. Help us out love"

"Aunt-"

"Are you gonna give excuses Jace?", I smile sweetly at him.

He fixes an extra fake smile before snatching a few bags and walking ahead of us.

When we got home, it took so many trips and extra help to carry our many shopping bags. So now I'm happy again.
I'm back in my room watching sappy romantic movies and eating popcorn.

"Ness", my brother Ethan calls as soon as he enters the room.

Well he's not one to be bothered to knock. I pause my movie and turn look at him.

"Start packing. Mom said so. And don't forget...dinner and ice cream at 7"

I sigh. Looks like I have work to do.
