Mom and Dad are divorced for years. And now living with dad in Australia with his new family is a total disaster.
I feel like I am an outcast to their family.Monique, his new wife, is being a mother to me when she's NOT! I have no against that, but I still have a biological mom who is always freaking alive, and also having Lil brother with an imp bratty attitude makes me wanna choke him to death. He keeps on pulling pranks at me every freaking time!
I have been with them since my mom moves back to the Philippines and left me with these people. Mom didn't re-marry. She stays single. She promised me I would be her one and only child. We always keep in touch and sends packages for me.
I remember that time because I was just a five-year-old kid and been deprived of my mother's love.
It's summer when I moved out to Sydney and flew to my mom's place in the Philippines for a vacation. Dad will drive me to the airport and let the attendants accompany me. And then mom will fetch me at Davao Airport. It's always been like that.
I was seven at that time when I have my first solo flight. I have no one by my side to comfort me when I'm frightened of heights, turbulence, and such. People will look at me and always ask me who's with me and why I am alone. And I always answer them, "I am not alone; I am with you guys," and giving them my sweet smile.
As soon as the airplane touched down. I smiled at the person seated beside me and hugged my rainbow dash plushie. They are like an old couple. I wish mom and dad are like them. But it's impossible now.
People are getting and waiting for their stuff from the baggage carousel; an attendant approached me and asked if I can distinguish my luggage.
I just smiled and answered, "Yes, po."
My mom taught me to use "Po and opo" whenever I talk to adults in the Philippines. I can speak Bisaya and Tagalog, but I hardly understand some terms.
I pointed my finger to tell the attendant that it is my luggage.
She accompanied me outside of the airport.
"Mommy!" I shouted as soon as I saw my mom holding the phone like she is busy calling someone.
She smiles at me and gives me a tight hug.
"How is the flight, baby?" She smiled at the attendant as soon as she has my luggage. And mouthed "thank you" to her.
"I was scared, but I know you wait for me here, so I just pray nalang."
My mom is living with my papu and mamu here in Davao. I always want to be with them, but dad will get mad at my mom if I don't go back home. And I don't want them to fight. I wished they'll get back together.
"Mamuuu!" I ran towards her and gave her my Lil hug.
Mamu and Papu are the best couples I have seen yet. They are inseparable. Mom always told me the love story of them. They met at the cruise Papu is a Captain, and Mamu is a Doctor who is just attending the party. Paul entered the wrong room that makes them have Mommy. It was lame, but after daw what happened to them, they exchange letters, and Captain Papu did early retire for him to make sure Mamu is okay caring for the baby he is a hands-on husband to Mamu. I wish I have one someday.
"Namiss kita apo ko! Napagud ka ba? Nako bat ba kasi yang tatay mo'y di ka samahan dito" kinandong ako ni mamu paupo nakita ko may isang pigura na pababa sa hagdan.
At alam ko na kung sino yon"Papu!"bilis akong bumaba dala ang akng rainbow dash plushie. "Apo kong maganda at mabait narito ka na pala" papu carried me and give him a hug.
"Naku pa dili ka magkaapog gwapa kung dili gwapa ang mama" sabi ni mama habang binubuksan ang aking luggage.
//*-Naku pa hindi ka magkakaapo ng maganda kung hindi maganda ang mama-*//
"Ugma diay pa muanhi ang mga Santos para magdinner nakalimutan kong sabihin, Kelshey go down na magwash up ka pa" agad din ako binaba ni papu at pumunta kay mommy.
//*-Bukas pala pa darating ang mga santos-*//
My first night at my mom's place is not bad. She read my stories, and we play at a tea party.
The next morning we went to the mall to buy a dress for later's family dinner, and mommy told me we would have visitors.
I was wearing a cute blue dress while holding my plushie. Rainbow Dash. I went downstairs and saw kids running.
They stopped when they saw me. I bite my pinky finger showing that I am shy.
"Hi!" a cute boy waves his hands before the other one.
"Are you tita Sherly's daughter?" asked the boy who just showed up while holding an orange lightweight basketball.
I nodded as an answer.
We played that night, sharing our favorites while our family busy talking business and fame. I just learned they are brothers.
Lucian Jackson Santos and Brylle Ancker Santos.
