Katie's POV
Next day
"Mr. And Mrs. Kroeger?" A nurse calls out and both Chad and I stand, following her and leaving our kids, we adopted Raelynn, with Ryan and Nel.
"Alright, so I fixed the backflow into Robbie's heart. But there's something else." The doctor says and I grip Chad's hand tightly.
"The backflow as well as the aortic tachycardia caused some irreversible damage to his heart wall and aortic valve. We can fix his aorta, but the damage to his heart wall isn't able to be fixed. Basically once he is older, we will be able to do another surgery and replace his aortic valve, but the damage to his heart wall I cannot fix." The doctor says and I nod as Chad walks to the doctor.
"It's also a good thing that you guys aren't having anymore biological children and you should get both Lyric and Makenzi tested for aortic tachycardia. They could be carriers of it, like the two of you are." He says and I nod as we go to see Robbie in the NICU.
A few weeks later, he's able to come home and has to have a heart monitor on at all times, but the little shit keeps ripping it off himself.
One day, I feel nauseated as I walk to the bedroom after putting clothes away for all the kids and race to the bathroom.
I shrug it off as the stomach virus as both Eliza and Tyler have it right now.
I go and take a shot of Pepto before going back downstairs.
