Chapter 11

Katies POV

Thirteen weeks later

"Alright, so here is the information for her next appointment." The doctor says as she hands Chad the items and I pick the car seat up, only for him to swap me.

"You're still on light duty." He says and I roll my eyes as we leave the hospital. We get to the car and get Lyric fastened in before heading home.

We get home and I see Dad, Beth, Addy, Pat, Greyson, Ryan, Nel and Kenzie all on our porch with a banner that reads Welcome Home Lyric!

I smile as we get out, Chad getting Lyric out and we walk to the house and we all go inside as it's February in Vancouver.

Smiling as Kenzie comes over to me and I gently hug her, being cautious of my stitches.

I had to be stitched up twice due to how much I bled after Lyric's C-section.

"Mama! Lookie, she wake up!" Lyric says and I smile as I gently take Lyric out of her car seat and hold her gently.

I watch Beth hold Greyson, my little brother who was born six days after Lyric. He has the same heart condition my twin had so that's how I know he's my sibling.

Beth comes over and I see her smile down to Lyric.

"Teen pregnancy got you twice, Katie. But they are both adorable." She says and I laugh as Chad takes Lyric and I take Greyson, being cautious of his heart monitor for his tachycardia and arrhythmia.

Greyson had open heart surgery two days after he was born at 31 weeks and 5 days. He wasn't a Micro-Preemie or nano-preemie like me, Macy, Kenzie, and Lyric were but he was a preemie.

I see Dad smiling as Beth helps me feed Greyson and realize that she changed once he was born. She went from pushing me away to trying to help me.

After we get Kenzie and Lyric laid down for Naptime/bedtime and Grey asleep in his car seat, Pat and Addy went home with Nel and Ryan.

"Daniel, I have something to tell you and I know this will hurt you." Bethany says and I look over from the kitchen where I'm grabbing Dad and Chad a beer.

"What is it Bethy?" He asks and she sighs as she looks at him.

"Patrick isn't your son. I was already pregnant with him when we got together. Addy is your daughter and Grey is  your son, but Patrick isn't. I didn't cheat, but I did like about him being yours. My parents are super religious and had they found out he was Xander's they would have disowned me. I'm sorry." She says and I look to Dad who hugs her.

"I already knew, Beth. I done a paternity test on both of them and Patrick's was the one that said I'm not his dad, but blood doesn't make a father or a family. I am his Dad in every single way." He says and I smile as Chad hugs me.
