2 Months later
The winter air swirled around them as she clung to Daryl, they had been heading north for a while. Beth's eyes widened in awe as she saw something in the distance. There had been nothing but trees and snow for the last few days. She motioned to Rick.
Her lips were cracked and dry, her face a winter pale.
"Rick! I think there's a place!"
He didn't acknowledge her, but she knew he heard. It was close, or so it seemed. They kept moving. People had changed since Tyreese died. Sasha had separated from the group mentally. Her body was always with them but her mind was elsewhere. Rick grew closer to his children. Glenn and Maggie were drifting apart, they were putting survival before love.
Beth let go of Daryl, kissing him on his cold cheeks. They had reached the mysterious building . It was an old hardware store of some kind. The sign in the front was tattered and blood was sprayed across the windows.
Glenn banged on the door, the noise echoed throughout the building. He stepped in, with everyone following behind. Glass crushed under their shoes.
They split up into several groups. Beth and Daryl were assigned to aisles 1-5. She grabbed his hand, leading him towards aisle 3.
"This is so stupid, all that's gonna be here is dirt and plantin' supplies," Daryl spoke with frustration.
"Well is this a planting supply?" Beth spoke, pulling an axe out from behind the shelves.
"Leave it to Beth Greene to find the one good thing in this whole entire trash bucket."
She chuckled, her cheeks turning a rosy pink. She moved closer to Daryl, her arm slowing creeping around his back. He leaned in closer, their faces inches apart.
"You're so-"
Beth's feet slipped under her as it grabbed her ankles. She screamed in pain as her leg twisted, hitting the concrete. He pulled out his crossbow and killed it in one quick move, then rushed to Beth's side.
He wrapped her arms around his shoulder and helped her up.
"No, I'm fine! I'm fine!" She spoke to Daryl, attempting to stand up.
She rose on one leg before tumbling back to the ground.
"No you ain't."
He hoisted her onto his back, trying to find the others.
"Rick! Rick I got Bet-"
Rick tumbled back into Daryl, causing Beth to fall.
"There's a lot over there. I only have 8 bullets left."
"Ok I'll find the others, you stay here. Don't leave Beth."
Beth laid next to Rick curled up, grasping her ankle in pain. Daryl left briskly, killing a walker in the process.
He turned into aisle 10 and saw Glenn and Maggie.
"We gotta go!"
Daryl shouted to them. Maggie had something in her hands and Glenn had a bag of some sort.
Soon Daryl had found everyone. He ran back to where he left Beth, trying to motion Rick they had to leave. He dashed around the corner, Beth still was on the ground but Rick was gone.
He lifted Beth on his back, outraged that Rick left her. Light shown on the other side of the building... the exit.
He ran with all his strength, latching onto Beth. Finally he saw snow. Leaping outside, the sun's brightness temporarily blinded him.
Finally his eyes adjusted, Everyone was on the ground, 2 men pointing guns right at him.
"Hello Mr. Dixon."
