Beth Greene POV
I peeked behind Daryl's large shoulders. Everyone was on the ground, with two men holding them hostage.
"Hello Mr. Dixon."
I could feel Daryl's muscles tensing.
"And hello Beth! Pleased to meet you in person."
Daryl kept me on his back, holding onto me with great force.
"As you can see, we have all the people you love right in front of us, if you do not drop your weapons, one of them will die."
The man spoke with humor in his voice.
"Oh and can you let go of Beth please?"
"She can't walk. She just hurt her leg." Daryl said, angrily.
"Oh we know, the walker grabbed her."
I could feel shock form on my face. Had they been watching us? Who are these people? Suddenly I felt myself being lowered to the ground.
"Ok so now that the gang is all here, we can choose one of two things." The second man spoke. He was probably 30, his hair was neatly trimmed and styled. There was no dirt on his freshly washed clothes.
"Choice one: You give us all your weapons and supplies and then we kill you. Or, we kill you then we take your supplies."
"We ain't doing that." Rick said to the man calmly.
"Aye, you can take our things, but you don't have to kill us."
The man chuckled. "Rick, do you think we're stupid? You would track us down an-"
His sentence was cut off by an arrow flying through his head. He instantly fell to the floor, blood trickling down his face and neck.
The other man pulled out his pistol, aiming the gun at Glenn. Glenn looked at him then grabbed Maggie's hand. His look was filled with fear and sorrow. But before the man could pull the trigger, a knife interrupted him. Rick stood behind dead body.
"We have to go, there's probably more."
Glenn stood up, with happiness on his face. We grabbed our weapons and trailed on back on the road.
After about a mile down, I saw a blue berry bush.
"Daryl, look blue berries!
Suddenly a man appeared from the woods, everyone drew their weapons.
This man was different, his look was not crazy, but nervous. His hands instantly flew up in the air to create a surrender.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't mean any harm, see?"
The man dropped his gun and knife.
"I'm looking for recruits. We have a town a couple miles down the road. If you want, you can come with us."
"No, thanks for the offer." Daryl instantly spit back. I knew where he was coming from. There had been too many times when we put our lives in the hands of other people and they almost killed us.
"Uh- her leg, we have a doctor that could help." The guy said, pointing at me.
"I said no. Now keep moving." Daryl said again.
"How many people are in this place?" Carol spoke, I could feel everyone's eyes on her. Was she actually thinking of going?
"About 50, it's a well established community."
"How do we know you aren't lying?" Michonne now chimed in.
"Well you don't. Look I understand you wouldn't trust some guy you just met with your whole group, and I respect that. But just think, she has a broken leg, you're carrying a baby, and most of you look like you haven't eaten in 10 days."
The group stood there for a moment in silence.
"I'm going." Carl spoke from the back, stepping forward.
"Me too." Michonne stated.
"Count us in as well." Glenn and Maggie said, walking forward.
I leaned to Daryl, whispering in his ear. "We should go, I'm not going not going to survive like this." I stated, touching my leg.
He looked at me with annoyance, then lifted me onto his back again.
"Us too."
