Monokuma pushes the same button that sent Kayden to his death previously, and the chain came out and grabbed Ayane, who waves slightly, then gets pulled into the execution room. The room was fairly different, instead of an opera stage, it was a normal, high school stage, with a giant bear trap, and a meter on the side that read, “Act 1”. Ayane looks around for a second, and realizes that, like the meter says, she needs to perform to save her life. She starts doing so, and the meter rapidly progresses and goes up. However, just as the meter is about to reach the highest score, Monokuma destroys it, triggering the 'Failure' condition. The giant bear trap around Ayane snaps shut, killing her instantly.
“No…” Nao looks at her body, crying like she did before the trial.
“Nao.. it’ll be okay…”
“Ugh, that was gross, worse than Miana’s death…” Izumi trails off.
“Well. We need to listen to Ayane, we need to respect her wishes. We need to stop the killing.” Yuma looks forward, her red and blue eyes determined. Koko nods in agreement.
“She… she didn’t want to kill anyone, she just wanted this killing game to stop just as much as us.”
“Well! That was exciting! 2 more deaths up on the chalkboard! Who will be ne-”
“Nobody will. We’re not going to kill anyone anymore.” Yuma glares at him as all of the remaining 8 survivors walk back out, towards the cafeteria. Yuma looks around at all of their faces, each downcast after witnessing two more deaths of their supposed friends.
All of them walk into the cafeteria, sitting down in the seats in the table, the table feeling even bigger than it had before.
“So… What are you doing Yuki?” Yuma turns and looks at her, who’s staring at the table, her eyes dimming again, breathing heavily.
“Παρακαλώ μη…” She looks up at Yuma, clearly on the verge of tears.
“Yuki… It’ll be okay. We all care about each other, and care about you. We will help you get over this…” Yuma stands up and walks over to her, Koko doing the same thing.
“I’ve lost people too. I’m pretty sure we all have. C’mon, it’ll be fine.” Koko gives a small smile.
“Yeah, we just need to keep moving forward. Like Miana would want you to-”
“I said DON’T!” Yuki stands up, pushing the chair back. Yuma stumbles back in surprise, hardly catching herself.
“Yuki?” Koko walks over to Yuma, keeping her steady.
“None of you knew. Nobody knew her the way I did. You can’t say what she would want! She was everything I had, and none of you could ever try to make up for that! So, don’t even try, don’t even TRY TO HELP, YOU WON’T DO ANYTHING!” Yuki snarls and storms out of the cafeteria, slamming the door behind her.
“Yuki!” Yuma starts to follow, but Koko holds her back.
“It’s better to not provoke her. She’s very clearly in pain.” Koko says, her face grim.
“That’s why we have to help her, Koko!” Koko shakes her head.
“Listen. Yuki needs to think about this. She’s different from both of us, and we need to respect that.” Yuma finally stops struggling against Koko and nods.
“So… what are we going to do?” Chinatsu shyly asks.
“We’ll stay together. It’ll be okay. We’re not going to kill anyone.” Naoto says, smiling at her.
“Alright, Sayuri and I will stay together, like normal.” Izumi says.
“Aya- oh…” Nao looks down again, wilting a bit.
“Tomorrow we’ll explore the third floor. Alright guys?” Yuma says, and everyone nods in agreement.
“Should we wait outside Yuki’s room? Just to make sure she’s okay?” Koko nods.
“I don’t think she’ll be out in a while. But just in case she needs… never mind, if that happens, you’ll see…” Koko trails off, leaving Yuma even more confused and worried.
“Alright… Let’s go then.” They both walk out of the door, turning towards the dorms. They walk down the hallway, looking sadly at Miana’s dorm next to Yuki’s.
“Should I knock?” Yuma turns to Koko.
“It’s been about 5 minutes… we should wait a little longer.” Koko sits down, patting the spot next to her. Yuma smiles a bit and sits down next to her. They both wait about 10 minutes, just talking about nothing, then Koko stands up.
“Okay, that should be enough time.” Koko knocks tenaciously on the door, Yuma standing behind her. Yuki opens the door and smiles suspiciously normally. She gestures for the two of them to enter, and they look at each other, then walk into the room. Her room looked fairly normal, tidy and clean as always.
"Yuki, are you okay?" Yuma asks, looking at Yuki's face to see any of the anger from before. Yuki smiles again, and Yuma looks at Koko, who also seems confused.
"Yep! Sorry I acted like that, it wasn't right for me to do," Yuki sighs.
"Are… are you sure? You're not normally like this…" Koko says.
"Well, it's not everyday the one person you actually care about dies a horrible death because somebody wanted them dead!" Yuki exclaims, seemingly getting mad for a second, then her face returns to normal.
“So, you’re saying everything is fine, and we don’t have to worry. Why don’t I buy that?” Koko crosses her arms.
“Yuki, you know you can talk to us, I think we’ve all had our fair share of losses and deaths… I know how I felt after Kaydens… I can only assum-”
“No. You are not allowed to assume anything,” Yuki waves her arm, cutting Yuma off. Yuma notices her normally rolled up white sleeves were rolled down, and her suitcoat was buttoned all the way up.
“Then can I assume you’re hiding something from us?” Yuma asks, looking at her. Yuki shakes her head.
“And why would you think that?”
“Because this,” Yuma gestures to Yuki, “this isn’t how you normally are, like Koko said.”
“I can’t stand the sight of you two,” Yuki tilts her head and smiles, her long, black bangs shifting to the side ever so slightly.
“W-what?” Koko stutters and stumbles a bit, “You said we were friends…”
“Eheh, did I now? Let me ask you, was that before or after the single person I cared about died for me? And while I’m asking the questions, do you think I actually cared about you? Either of you? At all?” Yuki snickers at the sight of Yuma and Koko’s faces, ashen and dull.
“So that’s why it was so easy to just admit the crime for you. You wanted us to die.” Koko started, her gaze becoming even more sharp. Yuki lifts up her arms in defeat, and Yuma stifles a little gasp.
Blood was running down her white sleeves.
