All of the Dark Fae in the Valley were in an uproar upon hearing the news of the successful hatching of the prince. Once word got out to the public, the loyal subjects of the King and Queen of the Valley of Thorns prepared gifts and specialties for their newborn prince.

The date was January 18. While the King was busy bragging to the nobility about the birth of his son, the Queen sat in a rocking chair in her son's new bedroom, looking out the giant glass window. She watched as the falling snow danced down from the sky and coated the trees in a thick white blanket. Her son was wrapped up tight in a blanket in her arms, peacefully sleeping.
Suddenly, with the female fae's ability to hear the quietest of noises, she picked up the slight sound of the floorboards creaking.

I crawled as quietly as I could across the room to where her majesty was.
If I could just surprise her just once, then Lilia will owe me a new torture weapon!
As I came closer and closer to where her majesty was sitting, I suddenly felt my hand become coated in something gooey... and slimy... and-
"What the hell is this?!" I jumped up from the floor, desperately trying to wipe the substance off my hand onto the blanket her majesty was holding.
"Y/N!! Just what do you think you're doing? Be gentle, that's my baby!" The Queen scolded me and pulled her baby away, which I had no idea was even present. The confusion and alarm showed greatly through her young and glowing features.
