It was finally time. Today was the day of the grand celebration for the human King's newborn daughter. Maleficent's guards, Lilia and Conall, were already set to leave. Their task was to follow Maleficent from the shadows in secret, in case of any emergency they were prepared to defend their former queen.
Borra had been excluded from the plan. Something Oberon said about him being too impulsive and intense. So poor baby Borra would be left in the castle to complain. Oh, but he would not be alone of course. Though Oberon and Titania would also stay to spend family time with Malleus, Y/n would also be staying. This may be Borra's chance to steal her away...
"I'd like that little one there to stand by me through all this." Maleficent beckoned to Y/n who was playing with Malleus. Malleus had somewhat warmed up to his grandmother. He still kept his distance, but he was no longer afraid to be in her presence.
Lilia spoke up immediately, "You want Y/n to come with us? Why, may I ask? There is no reason to put her onto the frontlines of danger."
"Danger? Aha! Oh, little imp, you say the most amusing things, you know." Maleficent evilly chuckled.
"No, no. I merely just want someone to talk to on the way there," Maleficent pet Y/n like a cat, while Y/n stood uncomfortable and confused, "If that's alright with you, little one?"
Y/n looked up at her shyly, "O-of course your majesty, I have no reason to refuse such a kind offer."
Y/n hated putting on a fake, respectful persona. What she wanted to say was, 'Yeah sure, I don't care lady.' But she suppressed the urge and continued.
Maleficent and the others went off to discuss other matters while Lilia whispered to Y/n on the side.
Y/n watched as Malleus tried to climb up the large curtains like a startled cat would, though Malleus was just testing his toddler-ish strength.
"Y/n, are you sure you want to go? I mean I know you can handle yourself, but I just don't want you so close to Maleficent. Especially when she unleashes her powerful magic." Lilia grabbed Y/n by the shoulders gently giving her a worried look.
