"Y/n, my love~ Come kiss me goodbye!"
Y/n glared at me, but I know she likes how I tease her. Sometimes.
King Oberon and I had finished our oration of motivating the regiment to protect the Valley. I was general, meaning I was in charge of all 20,000 warriors in my regiment. They all looked up to me. Everyone depended on me to lead them to victory, as I had done many times during past battles with other beings.
Right now we were all outside of the village where families bid farewell to their loved ones. Sons and daughters promise their parents and younger siblings of their return. Promises to lovers that they would send letters as much as they could. I saw children clinging to a warrior's body, begging them not to leave.
The only person that would be waiting for my return, would be Y/n.
She came up to me slowly, desperately trying to avoid my gaze.
"So...," She began, and I smiled confidently at her, "You're finally leaving, huh? Hm, can't wait for the castle to be calm and quiet for once." She smirked.
"I know you're gonna miss me, Y/n. My love~" She just won't admit it. But I know how she really feels about me.
She blushed and glared at me, "I never agreed to that stupid pet name!"
She's so cute, I love her so much! I wish we would be fighting together as partners once again. Though the Queen specifically prevented Y/n from joining this war. I remember how upset Y/n was when the queen announced it to her. Fighting and killing, that's all Y/n knew ever since she was born. To take away her lifestyle takes away who she is, and what she knows. But I think this is better for Y/n. She shouldn't have to think life was covered in blood. I want her to live how she wishes, not by what the corrupted world taught her.
I want to protect her. I want her to know how much I love her, how much I want to be with her forever. To live a quiet life somewhere away from this chaos with my love. I'm going to do it. I'm going to tell her.
"Y/n~ Once we win this little affair, I'm gonna marry you when I return!" I held her smaller hands in mine and stared lovingly into her e/c hues. She blushed even harder than before.
"H-huh?! Tch! Don't make stupid jokes at a time like this! You idiot. You're probably gonna die this time anyways." Y/n paused for a brief moment. "Since I won't be there to protect you anymore." I felt her hands tremble slightly in my hold. She stared down at her feet, a somber look in her eyes.
