Running Cold (Part One)

Wei Ying gets a fever whilst studying at Cloud Recesses but tries to hide it behind his flawless, stunning smile that he has perfected so no one could tell his true feelings. But will a certain someone actually notice or will Wuxian's smile fool him also? (edited)
✨One story spilt into two parts✨

As Wei Ying woke, the first thing he noticed was the mind-splitting headache that had seemed to form while he was deep in sleep. Reaching up to touch his forehead, he realised that he felt extremely weak like all his muscles had gone dead weight. He also felt wet everywhere, neck, face, hands, literally everywhere. Sweat was coating his whole body like he had just gotten in and out of the cold springs, yet he had not moved a single body part from when he fell asleep at 1 am.

Just when Wei Ying was starting to drift back of to sleep, Jiang Cheng burst through the door, wondering where his brother was and why he was so late.
"Wei Wuxian! Do you know how late you are?" he yelled as he walked through the big sliding doors. However, his actions were halted when he saw his brother's sweaty, tired state.

What Jiang Cheng saw as he walked into the room was the complete opposite of what his brother was normally like. He was rolled on his side, in the foetal position with sweat drenching his body, his white undergarments soaked, almost becoming see-through. When his eyes reached his face, the other's eyes were closed tightly like he was in pain and his bottom lip was quivering slightly.
"Wei Ying, are you okay?" he asked gently, his voice laced with slight worry. However, there was no response from the distressed body lying on the bed.

Wei Wuxian heard Jiang Cheng's question but couldn't move his lips to respond and pretended like he was asleep. As his brother was staring at him, an idea came to his head like a lightbulb had come to life. He thought about it for a while and then put his idea into action; he was going to try and pretend like he was having a bad dream and hopefully, that'll disperse all worry that he was sick in his brother's mind.

With all the energy he had in his body at that moment, he sat up quickly and gasped as if he had just awoken with a start. Due to the sudden action, Jiang Cheng jumped in surprise and almost fell to the ground but luckily gained his composure before he lost his balance. Wei Ying's eyes shot open and he looked around the room quickly as he thought to himself, ' Woah, I'm surprisingly good at acting. Never knew that one, hahaha'.
"Wei Wuxian, are you okay?" his voice seemed to have a hint of concern in it, but he tried to hide it with a cough.
"J-Jiang C-Cheng...?" his voice was hoarse as he spoke, surprising both him and Jiang Cheng.
"Yeah, it's me. Are...Are you okay? What happened just now?" Jiang Cheng spoke hesitantly as he stepped closer to where his brother had once been laying.
"Yeah, I-I'm okay. I was having a nightmare and just suddenly woke, I'm sorry about worrying you" he spoke quietly, feeling bad about lying to one of the closest people to him.

After regaining some energy from sitting there and chatting for a while, he stood up slowly and walked towards his clothes which had been placed on the table in the middle of the room. With every step he took, his head pounded so much that it felt like someone was trying to bash their way out from the inside of his brain. Ignoring all the pain he felt from everywhere and the unwillingness to move, he picked up his clothes and got changed quickly before he put on his signature grin and turned round to face his brother.

As they left towards where they were definitely going to receive a scolding, Wei Ying tried his best to act normal by conversing with Jiang Cheng as he bounded around, despite the resistance his body held against the action.
"Sorry about sleeping in too long and causing not only me to be late, but you too" he stated with sincerity while slinging his numb arm around his brother's shoulders.
"Yeah you should be but I'd rather be late with you than have to sit in that hall on my own bored out of my mind" he spoke as he laughed slightly, Wei Ying joining him after a few seconds.
