Chapter 2

*Flashback*

Deep in my thoughts in my office, trying to figure out a solution to a problem that can no longer be ignored, I hear a soft knock.
Before I could say anything, the door cautiously opened to reveal my driver Mild sticking his head inside to see if it was OK to come in.

Mild has been with me for years. He is a funny man but he is someone I could always count on. On some of my darkest times, he found different ways to help me smile. He is on the smaller size, but don't get it twisted, if needs be, he will tear your throat out before you can even growl once.

"Good morning Mild, how are you?"

"Good morning Master Tharn, doing well sir. Master Thorn just informed me that your father needs to see you both in his office immediately."

I had an idea what he wanted to talk about. Fortunately we all lived and work under the same roof. But we can go weeks without seeing one another. My brother and I each had our wing to live in, and our parents stayed in the middle. They respected our privacy, and as we grew old, they gave up on the idea of forcing us all to seat together every night for dinner. Let's just say it's difficult to stay in the same room with Thorn for a long period of time.

" Walk with me Mild, we need to go a few places after this meeting with dad"

He politely bowed and waited for me to exit the room before locking the door behind us. 

I suddenly felt like someone was trying to communicate with me via our mind link. I opened mine just to hear my dad asking me if I was on my way because Thorn was getting impatient. I rolled my eyes. He probably thinks dad Will be announcing who his successor will be...i thought the same.

The closer I got to the office, the more I could sense Thorn's irritation and impatience. What is wrong with this guy? It's only been 5 minutes since Mild told me about the meeting and I'm already walking so fast, Mild is struggling to keep up with me.

Took a deep breath and opened the large 2 front doors of the office. Mild stood guard outside waiting.

"Took you long enough" Thorn said with a low growl.
"If you really wanted me here sooner, you could have mind linked me instead of sending Mild to tell me about the meeting."
Within us, we have the capability to speak this way in human form. With the rest of the pack however, in order to mind link we need to be in wolf form.

"The last place I want to be, is in that mind of yours" he spouted while crunching his nose to show his disgust.

I should be the one saying that to you. I thought. You're the psychopath.

"That's enough!" dad said with his thunderous voice. Being the Alpha King we have no choice but to obey even if he wasn't using his alpha voice.
"We have important stuff to discuss. Both of you sit down."

* Is the pace of the story OK? I don't want to go too fast but at the same time I don't want to drag it out. Let me know what you all think 😊*
