6:30 am my alarm went off, but I was already wide awake. I slap it down as soon as it started ringing.
It's been almost a month since I've decided to stop taking my meds, and those dreams, and random flashes during the day are now flooding back in trove.
I begrudgingly got up and sat up, but still unable to get off the bed. My body was screaming at me that it needed actual rest, but my brain wouldn't let it.
I take a deep breath, give my cheeks a couple of mini slaps.
"Let's go make some money."
Unfortunately it's not that much money. I'm currently working in an art gallery, and tonight my boss has finally agreed to display some of my paintings and sculptures.
For the longest times he would refuse, until last week when he realized that I had a pretty big social media following. Nothing to really brag about, but still significant enough to make him sing in another tune.
He'll get some free advertisements to my 2.8M followers, and I'll get the satisfaction on seeing all of my work displayed in a reputable establishment with lots of high end clientèles and possibly purchased.
So today I've got more work to do to get everything ready the way I wanted them to. Thankfully I only live down the block.
I opened my window curtains to let some more air and lights in.
I take in a deep breath.
Looking out the windows, I enjoy the quiet for now because soon the street will be filled with cars and school buses.
The world has changed tremendously.
There were more buildings than trees. Everyone seems to have forgotten who and what they were. The moon Goddess seemed to have abandoned us... Or was it the other way around?
There were no such things as packs anymore, it was every wolf for his or herself.
The only wolves we see nowadays are either plush toys or Halloween costumes.
Most of the population have either lost their abilities to shift or they simply no longer had access to their wolves. If you ignore your wolf long enough, they will just abandon you.
The idea of being able to find our one and only mates matched by the moon Goddess herself have dwindled into nothing more than a fairytale story for most.
The older generation still remembers, but there aren't many of them.
If an alien came and observe us, it would never know this world was once a magical place.
Magic was being forgotten and ridiculed.
And for every new batch of people who choose to ignore or forget who we are, the worse we are for it.
I don't know how they can't feel it, but every day I can feel it in every cells in my body.
Our world was descending into darkness, but everyone was too busy with their phone lights shining on their faces to even notice what was going on around them.
It's pretty much unheard of now for people in my age bracket to still have their wolves with them.
Most if not all, have never even heard their wolves' voices. Almost as if the world was running out of magic and they couldn't manifest themselves anymore.
But somehow I can always sense them. Just walking past someone I could always tell what they were. Alphas, omegas, betas etc...
I'm an Omega with Alpha blood which made us bigger than the usual omega.
