Tul: "Tharn buddy please wake up... I feel like I'm slipping away."

In complete agony, Tharn was finally waking up. He kept hearing a faint voice telling him to wake up and... OMG! What is this screeching throbbing sound? Besides the screech, every other sounds around him are coming in all garbled up and muffled. He could feel every broken bones in his body.

Why isn't Tul healing me?
Holding down his ears with his hands desperately trying to lessen the sound, he then tried to open his eyes. It was all so blurry. He also could barely smell anything. What the hell is going on?
He tried getting up and suddenly understood the extent of his injuries. He felt like he was hit by a truck a couple of times. It hurt so bad he couldn't even scream.

"Tul buddy are you OK?"

" yyyes... I...am still here."

" why do you sound so far away? What is going on? Do you know?"

"Tharn I need you to focus... We are not home...i can't sense any magic here. I've been been fighting to hang on

Tharn tried to cut him off...

No shut up and listen Tharn. I feel like I'm being dragged away bit by bit. I don't know how long I can hold on for. I need you to focus and listen...

Our mate is somewhere here, I can sense him. Please focus and quickly find him before we can't anymore"

Panicking, Tharn gathered all the strengths he had left to get up off the ground and sit on his heels. He tried to shift one more time in order to heightened his senses a bit more.

His back bones started moving beneath his skin. He almost fainted from the pain. Tul was too weak to protect him from the pain like he always did, so Tharn was feeling the brunt of it all.

His skin was on fire, his nails started growing and he could feel each tear to his fingertips as the nails started growing out. The hair on his skins were standing up and his eyes turned blue. But that's all that happened, he couldn't fully shift. However through the tears that were unknowingly pumping out his eyes he was finally able to notice one of the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on in his entire life.

Through the muffled sounds, he could clearly hear his heart racing.

There he was, across the massive field they were on, sitting on the ground reading a book. Looking so peaceful, enjoying a picnic alone.
My gosh, Tharn thought, in the middle of a field of sunflowers, he was the most beautiful one.

Tul: "Tharn...we've found him... Our Mate. He is gorgeous and cute. Take care of him... Mate...
his voice was gradually getting fainter. Tul was happy and relieved to know he will leave knowing at least Tharn will have his soulmate by him.

Goodbye Tharn... Can you believe it?... Our MATE!" and he was gone.

"Tul? Tul!!! DANM it Tul answer me!!! Please don't leave me!  He wailed in his head. Just imagining not having Tul in his life was too much to bear.

TUL! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU! PLEASE ANSWER ME!"
He was met with an eery silence. To his earliest memory, he has always had Tul. He was an alpha, but unlike other alphas he wasn't driven by power. He was kind and wise beyond his years. But he was incredibly fierce. With pitch black fur and deep blue eyes, you did not want to meet him in battle. But he also believed, just because he was already powerful, it was his duty to uplift those around him.

Tharn's eyes were now back to being their beautiful dark brown, nails were retracted. He felt cold. He has never felt cold before. He felt like his soul was torn apart. The bones on his back didn't go back into place yet. With the amount of pain he was in, he had no business being awake but he was trying hard to hold on to his consciousness.

Falling on his belly, he tried to crawl towards his mate, in the process scratching his hands and arms. Tul would have healed those in seconds. The thought of Tul being gone took his last strength away.

He tried lifting his head up to locate his mate. Still too far away, no way he can get there.

"My Sunflower" he whispered through his tears, while reaching out with his hand towards his mate as if he could just stretch and touch him just once. Incapable of doing so, he rolled on his back, looking up to the sky, a gutteral painful scream escaped him then sweet darkness came.

The last thing he remembered was a concerned voice that kept asking him to stay awake.

"Mate..."
