I watched as Gulf flew past me in a gust of wind and tackled Alexander almost knocking him down, then lifted him up hugging him as tight as he could.
They were both crying tears of joy.
Alex complained how Gulf was still calling him his little miracle. There was nothing little about him but he was still laughing at the nickname.Gulf was cradling him on his chest, scenting him like he was his long lost pup.
And here I am frozen in place. I dare not approach. I try to blink away the tears fighting to escape.
There he was. My son.
My only son.
The one I never got to meet.
The one I never got to hold.
Never got to see him smile
His first steps
Never got to hear him cry
Feel his little arms around my neck
His first day of school
Watch him grow to become a man.
Have the talk
His first date.
Never got to be called dad.I missed it all.
I failed him.
"Dad?"
I failed him.
"No you didn't dad"
They took him away from me and I failed to find a way to get back.
"Dad... Please it wasn't your fault. You didn't fail."
Wait... What?
He is talking to me. Was I saying all of this out loud?
He was walking towards me with his hands up slowly, like he was approaching a dangerous wounded animal. That's when I realized I was in mid shift.
" It's OK dad... It was never your fault."
He was finally in front of me. I took a few deep breaths to calm down.
"I'm sorry Alex... I'm so so sorry"
He wrapped his arms around me and my heart soared higher than it ever did before. I returned the hug and we just stood there for awhile.
Gulf standing a couple of feet away giving us some space, smiling and sobbing.
Moon Goddess :" We have much more to discuss as you two have not yet gone through your last transformation."
Gulf: "What it is that we have to do?"
Alex: "I understand someone asked someone to marry him not to long ago?" he said grinning mischievously.
I couldn't help but chuckle a bit and pull Gulf closer to me, snaking my arms around his chest.
"What does that have to do with anything?" I asked.
Alex: "The Moon Goddess will be performing the ceremony... Right now."
I jolted off of Gulf.
"Is that true?"
MG: "Yes and..."
Her words trailed off. I knew it was beyond rude but I teleported out. No way we were going to get married, in front of the moon Goddess no less... in sweats!
I quickly went to my penthouse in the city and grab two suits. Travelled back unto the field where everyone was just looking at me like I had 5 heads. This all took less than a minute.
Without saying a word, with my super speed I quickly dressed myself and Gulf up. I wanted him to look gorgeous when we looked back to remember this day.
When I finally slowed down, I was fixing his hair back so not even a branch would hide his beautiful eyes from me when we are saying our vows.
Alex was on the side giggling and making whipped sound.
I don't care.
I know I'm whipped. I'm happy to be for this man.
