Skylar woke up to the sound of bob marley being played, her favourite artist she loved him and for the first time in a long time she woke up in a good mood. Skylar had a quick shower not wetting her hair as it was already washed, did some light makeup and got into her bikini :

She wore a floral open button up and some mid waisted shorts showing the string of her white bikini, she quickly made a smoothie and hopped into her black truck turning on the engine before putting on her white bucket hat, she started driving around trying to find 'the wreck' when she came across a very rich part of Outer banks,
"figure 8, what the hell is that this doesn't look like outer banks anymore, it's so flash"
Skylar was confused where she was going and was definitely lost so she pulled over and looked on her phone for directions which she now realised she should have done in the first place, then someone knocked on her window scaring the life out of her, she winded it down and a very apologetic face appeared,
"oh aha sorry for scaring you, you just look really lost do you need directions?" a very calming voice said. "oh actually that would be wonderful i'm looking for 'the wreck' do you know where i could find that i think it's a food place" "oh ye totally you are definitely not in the right place but that's ok" he giggled and gave her the directions. "Hey so obviously you must be new around here but my friends and i are having a party on saturday if you wanted to come it would give you a chance to meet some people, and hang out with me" The boy said with a smile, he was nice but very preppy and definitely not her type, Skylar shyly accepted the offer and took the address down in her notes before driving away they exchanged names and numbers. The boy smiled before walking away allowing Skyler to drive off and, was very happy to be making new friends.
"finally you made it!" a familiar voice appeared as skylar parked in the parking lot of 'the wreck'. "sorry i got a bit lost on my way" the girl said as she hopped out of the car, when she turned to face him his eyes grew and she became extremely worried, "what's wrong did i do something wrong?" Skylar asked confused and scared. "No not at all, it's just- um... nevermind" the boy was struggling to find words before another voice snapped him out of his trance.
"yo hurry up we are all waiting for you" A girl came out of the building walking towards Jj, not noticing Skylar, she was really pretty and had amazing curly hair. "oh sorry is this the girl you were drooling over Jj?" she said pointing to me. "I wasn't drooling over her" Jj said sharply making the girl giggle, "i'm kiara by the way" Skylar was nervous but wanted to make a good first impression "I'm skylar, i just moved here yesterday" she managed to say before it became awkward. Kiara then started walking inside and turned to make sure the other two followed. Inside the restaurant was so cool it was right on the water and had super cool decor and the food smelt amazing.
"guys this is Skylar the one Jj was talking about and Skylar this is John B, Pope and Sarah" Skylar slightly waved and smiled before sitting down and the rest of them started introducing themselves, she liked them they were very nice and funny, all had different personalities but went so well together. "We were just about to go on our boat if you wanted to join Skylar" john B said smiling at her, Surprisingly skylar had never been on a boat before and she was kind of nervous but she agreed, and followed the group out onto the dock.
"So skylar, where are you from i noticed an accent" Kiara asked "oh i'm from Australia, Queensland to be more specific, i moved in with my grandparents because my mum is sick and they wanted to look after her and i just love outer banks although i haven't been here since i was about 12 i used to visit in the holidays before my dad went to- um before my dad- well when i was younger." the others looked at me whilst listening taking it all in before pope broke the silence "sorry about your mum i hope she is okay" then the others agreed and i just smiled. "do you surf?" Jj asked eagerly, she could feel her eyes lighting up at the subject and a smile krept onto her face " i love surfing back home we didn't live very close to a beach but my grandpa taught me when i came to visit and i'm not that good but it's my favourite thing to do!" they all smiled her and she giggled at herself. The rest of the afternoon was filled with drinking and talking about the their lives and they filled Skylar in on the whole kooks vs pogues thing and different things like that, she was very confused with the rivalry in the town because of the nice boy she had met in figure 8 earlier that day but she didn't mention it, she figured they knew what they were talking about and didn't want to cause drama. When the sun went down they drove back to the dock and Skylar walked back to her truck, Jj was walking next to her, "i had a lot of fun today will you hang again tomorrow?" he asked making her face light up she was proud of herself for making friends and offered Jj a ride home but he said he would catch a ride with John B so she drove off on her own thinking about the day. At last she felt like she belonged.
Walking back into her grandparents house she had to be quiet as her mum was asleep on the couch and she quickly heated up some food before walking to her room, when she checked her phone she saw a message from a boy... Topper.
'Hey Skylar i was just thinking about this morning and was wondering if you wanted to hang out tomorrow?'
Skylar immediately thought about what the pogues had said about boys like him and she thought about saying yes but she could tell he wanted to be more than friends, she had dealt with guys like him that couldn't take a hint but she felt so bad he did seem nice, she texted back 'Hey topper, i'm so sorry but i have family plans tomorrow but i will see you at the party on saturday! 😊
She felt bad for lying but she did already have plans with the pogues anyway.

I hope your enjoying it so far i'm really trying to be a bit original with this story and i know it's a bit boring at the moment but it will get more juicy soon i just wanted to get the introduction out of the way.😊
