KIARA'S EYES WIDENED AS SHE PULLED THE FED-EX ENVELOPE OUT OF THE HOLE IN THE WALL. "Oh, my God," she exclaimed, causing the other three pogues outside to exchange worried glances. Had she stumbled upon something good or bad?
With trembling hands, Kiara passed the envelope through the hole to John B, who eagerly snatched it up. Lia helped her down from the gap, concern etched on her face. "Are you okay?" she asked.
Kiara nodded, her lips curving into a faint smile. "Yeah, I'm fine."
Pope's voice cut through the tension. "That's not gold," he said, his eyes fixed on the envelope in John B's hands. John B's eyes widened as he read the words on the envelope. "Holy shit," he breathed. "This is from my dad."
JJ had lit a joint and was taking deep drags before passing it to Aelia. "Code red. Code red," he muttered, his eyes darting to the flashing headlights pulling up. "Square groupers! Square groupers!" Kie spoke quietly, urgency in her voice. "Go. Go!"
"It's the guys who robbed your house," JJ told John B, his hand reaching for the gun in his pocket. The group sprinted for a nearby wall, hiding behind it as the headlights grew closer. "Light," Pope and Kiara whispered, urging the others to turn off their flashlights.
