AELIA STARED AT THE PHOTO FRAME ON HER BEDSIDE TABLE, it held two little children appearing to be John B and Lia frozen in time at the age of seven, the Routledge boy had his arm around little Lia's shoulder as the girl stuck her tongue out. The picture was taken outside the chateau when Big John threw the Brooks girl a birthday party.

Throughout her life, the Routledge family had helped Lia through everything and welcomed the girl with open arms as if she were their own daughter and sister. Now they were gone and Lia had lost that family that once meant the world to her.

Thinking of John B didn't make Lia cry anymore, it just made her feel empty.

Over the past several days, Lia had blocked her friends out completely in many different forms. The girl's phone sat on silent beside her frail body, the screen still lighting up everytime that she got a notification, reminding Aelia of the world that continued outside of her bedroom walls.

The only person that had been checking in physically on the girl was her older brother. Jay would make food for Lia and leave the plate with her, although most of the time it would remain untouched at the end of her bed. Jay had known his little sister her whole life, he saw how the girl grieved their father when he died, and when the rest of the family moved away it left Aelia even more heartbroken. Jay was just glad that this time he could actually help her through the deaths of John B and Sarah. The man was doing everything in his power to get Lia back to her normal self but unfortunately she lay like a crumpled up piece of paper under her bed covers.
