"HOT GIRL ALERT WEEEE-WOOOOOO" one of akaashi's roommates screamed as he waved goodbye to hayashi and walked into the dormitory.
akaashi sighed, ignoring the shorter man.
akaashi's roomates were...
interesting.
akaashi hadn't yet learned the names of his roommates due to his anti-social behavior; therefore, he gave them all mental nicknames: the short one, the tall one, and the loud one.
it was only now that akaashi remembered that the boy he thought looked familiar on the volleyball court was the loud roommate.
of course, they were all loud, but the loud one was especially so.
"how'd you get to talk to hayashi, akaashi? tell us, tell us!" the short roommate stood in a weird position and signaled 'gimme' with his hands. the taller one sat at the kitchen island with tea in his hand and a smug look on his face. akaashi assumed the loud one was still at practice.
akaashi pulled his hoodie over his head and pulled the strings before he loudly shut his room door.
"odd one isn't he?" the shorter one said.
"yes, yes he is." the taller one remarked.
akaashi rolled his eyes at the remarks as he slid his back against the bedroom door until he was planted on the ground.
he sat like that for a few moments, taking in the atmosphere of his room to calm down.
akaashi found the past hour with hayashi slightly unbelievable.
he looked down to his hand, a little scraped because of his continuous fumbling.
in awe, he slightly smiled.
it was pathetic to be so happy for just talking to one person.
but akaashi didn't care about being pathetic, because he liked her.
~~~~~
the morning came by fast, maybe too fast for akaashi.
usually, he would avoid his roommates and successfully get away with it,
but avoiding them on weekends was a more challenging feat.
these men-boys- had no sense of a sleep schedule at all.
one night they would play video games until three in the morning, the next night they're sleeping at nine pm, and afterwards waking up at six am to make hot and steamy breakfast.
quietly, akaashi opened his door, careful to close it in the most quiet of fashions possible.
"hey hey hey, akaashi!"
akaashi groaned.
"good...morning." he said in a dull tone, not trying to be rude. he didn't not like his roommates.
well, he didn't like them but that was no reason to be rude to them when they hadn't wronged him in any way.
akaashi and his roommates were just too different to befriend eachother.
it didn't bother him.
"akaashi brought back a girl yesterday!" the short roommate said.
"oooooooo...." the loud roommate gasped and looked at switched his gaze from the shortie to akaashi multiple times "is it true?"
"yes! and she was hot too! the one in your grade bokuto!"
at this point akaashi was at the kitchen counter looking through the pantry to find something for breakfast- additionally taking the privilege of tuning the conversation.
"akaashi!" akaashi recognized it to come from the loud one's voice. he swiftly turned around.
"yes?" he tilted his head.
the loud roommate pointed to the table where their breakfast was already laid out. "do you like canola greens? our friend brought over too many."
akaashi stared at the food that made his mouth water. he loved canola greens.
he fixed started to mess with his fingers again. "well..."
akaashi's roomates looked at him with expecting eyes.
"sure." he said nonchalantly as he took a seat at the table.
"hey hey hey!" the volleyball player said as the other two looked at akaashi in suprise.
akaashi didn't talk much through the conversation at the table but he did manage to learn their names: kotarou bokuto who was a second year and captain of the volleyball team; haruki komi being "the small one" was a first year and libero of the volleyball team; tatsuki washio being the "tall one" was a third year and a middle blocker.
"akaashi! i didn't know we were in the same year!" komi beamed "i'll come pick you up everyday."
internally, akaashi groaned but he proceeded to silently nod.
but a little piece of him looked forward to it. akaashi would never admit it out loud, but he was tired of being alone.
maybe his roomates weren't that bad.
