childe had a dream that morning. you were the kitchen making him breakfast, humming the song you always sang as you cleaned.

he watched your back, hips swaying at the rhythm of the song. "hey, stop staring too much." you said.

"i can't help it." he laughed, placing his arms on the table while his chin rests on his palm. "if this is the sight i get every morning then i'd enjoy it to the fullest."

you huffed, shoulders dropping. "you say you like what you see, but..."

you turned to face him, but what he saw wasn't you. your face was all pitch black, but the hollows of your eyes remained with a glow of red.

"do you really accept me for who i am?" your voice sounded demonic.

childe wanted to scream and move away, but he couldn't. his feet was pinned to where they were, while no sound came out of his mouth.

you got closer and closer to him, until finally he woke up in cold sweat.

he immediately sat up the bed, panting heavily as he tried to forget what he just dreamt of. he shook his head, heaving in deep breaths to calm himself down.

"it's just a dream..." he mumbles.

he looks to his side, finding it empty. "[Y/N]?" he calls out, but you didn't answer.

maybe you were in the kitchen again, just like you were last night. he stands up from the bed, walking towards the kitchen.

to his surprise, you weren't there. he didn't want to panic just yet and went to look somewhere else. his search was useless, since your presence wasn't anywhere in the house.

he ran his fingers through his hair as he paced back and forth, trying to think of where you went. you surely didn't go out, you knew the consequences to it.

he sat down the sofa to rest, keeping himself from getting anxious. that's when he noticed it, the envelope that he had received last night was opened.

he quickly read its contents, eyes widening when he realized what you might've just done.

"[Y/N]? that's a surprise, i didn't expect to see you here of all people." scaramouche was sitting on top of a rock, observing a small chest piece like object that was in his hand.

"scaramouche." you said, seeing the gnosis you were looking for. "you know what i came here for."

"oh? so you're after this thing too?" he scoffs, now bringing it back to his pocket. "that's strange."

"how so?"

"you're helping the tsaritsa when she's out looking for you, possibly to get you executed?" he starts to laugh while walking towards you. "how loyal."

it didn't take long to find where scaramouche was. in the letter, it was indicated where his location might've been. it was correct, though you had a bit of trouble getting there since there were guards everywhere.

you had no choice but to fight them along the way, but thankfully you arrived on time. you wanted the gnosis back, it was to make a deal with the tsaritsa.

you give the gnosis back in exchange for the cancellation of childe's consequences.

"i suggest you give it back so we're over with this." you took your catalyst out.
