*your alarm sounds*

You turn it off before checking your phone

A message from Cate

Cate: Good morning darling x

You: Good morning beautiful x

*your phone rings*

"Good morning again"
You say with a stretch

"Good morning my love"
Cate says

You chuckle
"You can just call me right away Catherine, I know how much you hate texting"
You say as you get out of bed & head to the bathroom

She laughs with you before replying
"I know but I wanted you to sleep as long as possible, I know how crazy the airport will be."

"Very true, but I can't wait to finally see you"
You say, getting your toothbrush ready & beginning to brush

"I cannot even begin to explain how much I've missed you.
Are you all ready sweetheart?"
She asks

Your mouth muffled as you brush & talk at the same time
"Nearly, I'm just brushing my teeth and hair then I'll get dressed and I'll be ready"

She laughs at your attempt to talk while brushing
"Mm that sounds sexy"
She says playfully

"Mm hmm"
You hum as sexily as possible

Just as you spit out your toothpaste you hear your front door open & close.
You grab your robe & throw it on

"I think there's someone here"
You say to Cate slightly panicked.
"Hello"
You call out
You wait, No answer from either.
"Cate?"
You say quietly into the phone as you walk towards the door
"Cate!"
You repeat more panicked this time

A warmth surrounds you
"Yes baby"
her arms wrap around you from behind. A feeling you've been missing for too long.
"Surprise"
She says into your ear from behind before turning you

Your eyes immediately well up as you turn & wrap your arms around her, tucking your head into her to hide your ever growing tears.
"I've missed you more than words can describe"
You say, your voice cracking

Her hands raise & rest on your cheeks as she moves your face to look at her, her eyes also filled with tears.
"And I've missed you my darling"
She says as she wipes your tears, you do the same for her.

You both bask in the moment holding one another. It's unbelievable, like helplessly wandering a desert until a beautiful mirage appears, there she is. You look into those ocean eyes of hers that you've missed drowning in.

"I can't believe you're here"
You say, mouth parted in shock

"It is extremely surreal isn't it darling"
She says with a gentle smile. Her thumbs rub your cheeks gently, her eyes glance over your face taking in every detail as if she were staring at an artwork. Her eyes lower to your lips & she leans closer.

Your heart thumps, with passion yet with guilt. A tear runs down your face as your lips touch. You'd almost forgotten what her kiss was like.

Too long apart. Never again.
Her kiss; Soul stirring, rapturous, pure, beautiful, sustaining, affirming, passionate./
Senses heighten but light fades out. Like I feel every molecule on my lips and each of them firing sensation.

Every kiss with her feels like two souls meeting each other.
No words are needed but she is telling you how much she loves you. Even without the words, you know that when you were apart she missed you just as much as you missed her.

The kiss ends, arms still holding one another, body's still touching, faces still close.
"Let me help you"
She says gently as she moves to grab the clothes you have ready to change into.

She sits on the bed gesturing for you to come stand in front of her, you do so.
She slowly removes your robe, her hand trailing over your body as your flesh is slowly exposed.
Her eyes proudly & tenderly looking over you, gentle kisses covering your body as she begins to help you dress.

She says as she slides your underwear on.

You bring your hand under her chin

You say before kissing her

"As much as I'd like nothing more than to show you just how much I missed you right now. I have something special planned for you in Venice"
She says looking up at you as she brings you close for a warm embrace

"I can't wait. I have something special in Venice for you too"
You say with a smile as you put your bra on

She grabs your shirt & slides it in slowly, followed by your pants, thoroughly enjoying the too often looked over romance of dressing your partner.
