Six Months

"Six months after making headlines of her romantic Venice trip and her trip to Australia we have the interview of all interviews with Cate Blanchett and the mystery female"
You faintly hear the presenter repeating in multiple different ways.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Cate asks as she sits beside you taking your hand in hers in the green room of the today show.

"I'm sure"
You say

"We can always just run outta here"
She says tenderly, her accent strong as ever

You smile at her, nod
"I'd rather give them the truth than them follow us as much as they have been"
You say surely

She nods softly, squeezing your hand a little tighter
"If you feel uncomfortable at any time tap on my hand ok"
She says as she shows just how she means

"I will"
You smile & reply

She leans in & kisses you tenderly

*a knock at the door*

"It's just me"
Hilda says from behind the door

Cate makes sure to finish the kiss before looking at you, waiting for your nod before she answers Hilda

"Come in Hillie"
Cate calls out

"Hello my loves"
Hilda says as she enters the room.
She sits in front of the two of you
"Are you ready?"
She asks, reaching her hands out & placing them on yours & Cates knees

Cate looks at you
"More than ready"
She says confidently, like she's been waiting for this moment her whole life before she looks to Hilda

"As ready as I'll ever be"
You say, nervous but ready

"I know this is all new to you but I know you'll do just fine. If you at all feel uncomfortable just give me a signal, call cut, anything at all and I'll sort it out alright"
Hilda says

"Thank you so much for everything Hilda"
You reply.

As much as it use to be a running joke between you & Cate about Hilda having press messes to clear up, she really has been more than great with not only handling the press but even just for support.

*another knock on the door*

"Miss Blanchett, Miss Y/L/N, they're ready for you on set"

Cate looks towards you
"Ready?"
She asks

"Ready"
You say as you stand, Cate not letting go of your hand all the way to set.

You step up onto the platform, a familiar face, Hoda Kotb from the interview with Cate & Sarah for oceans 8

"Well aren't you two a picture perfect pair"
Hoda says as she nears you & Cate

"We meet again"
Cate says as she reaches out her hand to shake

"Hopefully no mascara running this time"
She says happily as she shakes Cates hand before drawing her attention to you

"Nice to meet you"
She says to you, reaching out her hand

You shake her hand
"A pleasure"
You say with a (secretly forced nervous) smile

"Please take a seat"
Hoda directs you & Cate to two chairs beside one another as she takes her seat & begins looking over her notes

Cate gives your hand a kiss & gives you a nod before adjusting herself in the seat

"Ready, and ACTION"
