9th Grade

Tue, 7th September 2021

Our first period was German conversation today. Our teacher, Mr. Schmidt, was really energetic. I don't know why and how did he have so much energy at 8AM, but he just did. He asked us to write as many features as we can about our best friend. We worked in groups. I was with Audrey and Maggie. We wrote about eachother that we are loyal, funny and helpful.
„Now, I want you to choose one of these words and mimic them. And the other groups will try to guess what it is," Mr. Schmidt told us his idea.
„Can we go first?" Felix asked.
„Sure."
Felix's group, Kyle, Robert and himself came up on the scene. Robert lied on the ground and Kyle started pretending to kick him. Then Felix ran into Kyle, pushed him away, and screamed: „Oh nein, was machst du?!" (Oh no, what are you doing?)
It was obvious they were imitating a helpful friend.
„Er ist hilfbereit!" (He's ready to help!) the whole class shouted.
„Richtig," (Correct) Felix smiled.
That was funny.
Then it was my group's turn to play.
I sat on the couch and pretended to cry into a phone. Then Audrey and Maggie ran to me and started comforting me.
„Sie hat Zeit für sie!" (She has time for her!) other guessed.
„Exakt." (Exactly) I said.

The next period was physics.
Our teacher, Mr. Scott, told us we have to choose a physics-related topic for a presentation. It will be due 21st December. That's a lot of time. I'm not sure what I want to do. We have to tell Mr. Scott the topic next lesson (next Tuesday, which is 14th September) and then we have three months of time to work on the presentation. I will think of the topic later. We talked about the things we did last year for the rest of the period.

The third period was Czech. Felix tried to make our teacher laugh, but he didn't succeed. He threw a paper plane at her. There was a little note in it. Mrs. Hayes opened it and read out loud: „I'm very hungry!"
„Ooh, did you get my note?" Felix winked at her.
„That's very funny, Felix," she replied.
„I know."
„I'm glad you do. Now focus on the exercises I gave you!"
I actually don't remember anything else that was sort of interesting that I could write for this period.

Before the fourth period, maths, started, Felix and Brad drew an Among us impostor on the board, and wrote 'Mrs. King is sus' under it. That's typical for them.
When Mrs. King arrived, she immeditely saw the drawing on the board.
„I'll talk with your parents later today. You're not even funny nor smart by doing this," she said, angrily.
„Who did this? Tell me!" she asked everyone, while cleaning the board.
„That was me, I thought it would make you laugh," Felix admitted, looking kind of sad.
„And also me," Brad added.
„I'll give you extra homework today because of you two. Now everyone thank them for giving you extra work!" she yelled at us.
I know these two boys are a bit annoying sometimes, but they're just fourteen years old, they want to have fun and make others laugh. But I don't mind extra math :)

The next period was German. It was kind of normal. We read some German articles from our book. There wasn't anything exceptional, so I'll keep this little update about this period short :)

We had beef with potatoes for lunch. It was good.

The next lesson was health education.
„Hello all," our teacher, Mrs. Collins, greeted us.
„Hello!" we greeted her back.
„Since the last time I taught you this subject was two years ago, I'll read your names from the students' list out loud and you will say 'here', so I'll remember your names again. Ok?"
„Good idea," Felix winked at her.
„I actually remember you. Felix, right?"
„Yes. How come you remember me but not others?"
„Because you're some sort of a class clown, atleast from what I remember. It's hard to forget your jokes."
„Understandable!" he replied.
She read a few names. Then things started to get funny.
„Audrey."
„Here!" Felix raised his hand (he sat at the front).
Mrs. Collins noticed Audrey in the back, but she decided to play along.
„Alright. I see an Audrey here at the front desk."
Everyone laughed.
„Kyle?"
„Here!" Felix raised his hand again.
„So do you identify more as Audrey or as Kyle?" the teacher asked him.
„Uhm, I think as Kyle," he smiled.
We talked about the things Mrs. Collins taught us two years ago for the rest of the lesson. We remembered almost everything :)

The last period, computer graphics, was cancelled, because our teacher, Mr. Taylor, was on a school trip with the eighth graders.

Today was a lot of fun. Looking forward to tomorrow :)
