Today was the first day of school.

I texted my friends Bianca and Kaylee on my way there. I wanted us to meet at the parking lot near our school so we wouldn't get lost.
„Hi!" they greeted me.
„Hey!"
„How about we find our teachers?" Kaylee suggested.
„Great idea. The rest of our class could be there too."
„But we have to hurry. The ceremony starts in five minutes," I noted.

Our school principal always invites someone important and they sing songs on the first day of school. Then we separate in groups and talk with our teachers for a while and then they set us free.

„I see Kyle. And also some of his friends," Kaylee told us.
„Oh, and our teacher is next to them. Let's go there."

When we got closer, Amanda and her friend Rebecca noticed us. I swear they kept staring at us the whole time.
I took a glimpse of the other classmates. Nobody changed. Maybe some of them have gotten taller over the summer. But they still looked kind of the same.

Then our principal took the microphone and welcomed us and told us how pleased she is to see us. I'm pretty sure she wasn't, judging by her face expressions. She sang our school's signature song with some girls that also absolved our school (but like a hundred years ago) and then they disappeared.

„Everyone come here!" our teacher screamed all of a sudden, „we will take class pictures on Friday. And I would like to discuss themes that we could dress as."

„We could dress as our national soccer team!" Felix yelled.
I personally don't have a problem with that. But the other girls didn't agree.
My other classmate, Madison, had other ideas: „No, we should dress as politicians! Or as police!"
„No, we will dress as doctors!" her friend Natasha suggested.
„Shut up, we will dress as soccer players," Kyle angrily told them. He's a total bully and can't bear a defeat. We ignored his rude comment and tried to come up with something different. But nobody had any other ideas.
„Alright, so what did you choose?" our teacher asked us after a few minutes.
Madison took the floor: „Since we only have time until Friday and not everyone has a football jersey or a police uniform or a doctor's suit at home, we will dress as politicians. Everyone at home will definitely find a tie, jacket and shoes. It will be the easiest."
There was a pause. Our teacher (I'll call her Mrs. Hayes from now on) broke the silence: „Umm, okay. I'm sure I will find something I could wear as a politician too. Now I want those who are fully vaccinated for atleast fourteen days to raise their hand."
Only one girl, Linda, did so.
„You have to bring me a certificate tomorrow. You won't have to be tested anymore. This applies to everyone who gets fully vaccinated in the future."
„I'm getting my second dose today!" I said.
„Same!" Madison and Maggie told me
„You could call yourselves vaccine twins," Bianca joked. We talked for a while and then Mrs. Hayes announced that we are officialy allowed to leave.
I said goodbye to others and went home.
I'm actually writing this at home, right before I go the health centre for my second dose.

I don't think there's anything else I should add as for today. If something important happens, I'll update this later. If not, then I'll write here tomorrow! :)
