Weeks had passed and there was still no sign of that Tobi.
Minato was glad and after a few days the feeling in his gut faded.
He had explained everything to his students about what happened but he didn't bother telling them that Tobi had a Sharingan. I didn't need to inform them of that.
Fugaku and him didn't talk about the masked rogue anymore after that Hokage incident where he explained that he was an Uchiha that had abandoned the clan and Obito was finally a Chunin.
But what was worrying is that a war was threatening to approach. The third Shinobi world war.
But for now he was focused on small missions with his team of Chunins as he trained them as well.
Right now they didn't need to worry about war.
-----
Obito had heard of the war that was said to be coming.
And he also heard that his younger self was finally a Chunin. That's good.
He was telling himself that the change would no sooner come. He hoped to change many things.
Of all of the weeks he had only been waiting inside of his dimensions, not bothering to come out into the real world. Not yet, is what he means.
He just needed to wait for the right time to finally snatch his younger self from the pain and evil that was coming head-first his way.
But he had to wait.
He will change his past self's fate.
-----
Kakashi was turned into a Jonin. Rin and Minato gave him gifts as a congratulations but, of course, Obito had 'forgotten'. It was an ordinary occurrence seeing as Obito really didn't like Kakashi. At least, that's what I think.
Minato was proud of his student to have been a Jonin at such a young age. Even he had never been that fast.
It was truly an achievement, for him and his students. But to Obito it wasn't like that.
He didn't mind it though. Children and all.
They continued to train, harder, especially since the times of war was coming. He didn't know if their training alone was enough for his students to face people from other villages in groups, adult Jonins or at least experienced ninjas trained most their lives as tools for their village to dispose of.
They don't have feelings so therefore they won't care if they get to kill children from other villages.
Children like his students.
So he trained them hard, although not too hard still as tough, unlike the usual training he gives them. They were going to go on an important mission soon and he had been told to handle a different mission since they now know that Kakashi had been made a Jonin.
It was dangerous because even if Kakashi was finally a Jonin, he wouldn't be able to handle too much. He was new, after all, just promoted from Chunin, a rank where most missions didn't include life or death.
And his stature was small so Minato doubted they would be fine all on their own, not to mention there's Rin with them.
Anything could happen to them if they're all alone without a proper Jonin, a proper adult.
But he didn't want to doubt his students. And the Hokage, for that matter, since it was him that assigned the missions to them in the first place.
Although he was flattered when the Hokage outright praised his student for being a Jonin at such a young, tender age. He said it was a record.
Kushina also gave him a gift, a simple one, but Kakashi accepted it nonetheless. Although the Hatake did seem to be amused watching Obito shower him with insults and 'It can't be!'s.
Minato watched his students bicker childishly with a smile.
This war may not be too bad of a training experience for these little rascals.
Kushina didn't like the idea of Kakashi having to lead their former four-man team without Minato as they were still only children.
Minato was able to convince her somehow anyway that it would be all right as long as they stick to the plan.
Hopefully they stick to the plan. Then everything changes from there.
Obito had a tick mark appear on his forehead at how angry he really is at Kakashi's sudden arrogance and Rin's compliments the Hatake's way.
Minato watched them from the side all the while. He could only hope they would come back together and okay.
But it would still be far from now.
They still had peace, and they didn't need to rush going head-first into the 'Kannabi Bridge' mission.
