Naruto smiled sadly as he watched his father ascend back in wherever he was before the Reanimation Jutsu.

It must have been heaven. He thought. Dad is an honorable Hokage.

But with that he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head slightly and saw Kakashi giving him a fond look from his eyes.

He no longer had the Sharingan after he said that Obito allowed him to use both his eyes for the Susano'o against Kaguya, but that was behind them now.

What was not behind them though, was Obito's passing.

His last words stuck to Naruto, better yet hit him hard as he almost wept.

"You better become Hokage."

Naruto knew that wherever Obito was now, he was watching Naruto proudly, waiting for the blonde to finally succeed and achieve the dream that he himself was never able to reach.

"It's done." Kakashi said, both his eyes now as black as the day he was born, staring almost proudly at the blonde as he retracted his hand from his shoulder.

"We've won over the world." Naruto continued with that same smile that he was sure Obito would have mimicked.

After the battle of Naruto and Sasuke, many things happened at once.

Kakashi was turned into the Hokage by Tsunade, with the silver-haired Hatake now being the sixth.

Kakashi promised Naruto would be the next after him, but not after he takes the Jonin exam.

After all that was finished, and Naruto finally getting his prosthetic arm from Tsunade, they all finally held the funerals for everyone that had died during the war against Madara.

They didn't have the time before, so the day it happened all the villages were at Konoha to also honor all of the people that had died, fighting against their own Legends.

But there was also a funeral for Obito.

Without anyone knowing Kakashi had actually snatched a handful of Obito's dust before they all flew away with the dimension's impossible breeze.

The handful was put into a jar and beside the jar was a picture of Obito with his Genin team.

They had buried Obito's dust particles in the jar beside Rin's grave, as to make sure that they were together even in death.

Kakashi openly weeped during Obito's small funeral, consisting only of the few who knew him before he went to the opposite direction.

Naruto had to be strong and he promised Obito while putting a flower beside the jar that he would, indeed, become Hokage.

For Obito's, and his dream's sake.

Naruto and Sakura comforted Kakashi as Sasuke stayed in the sidelines, silent but at the same time
grieving for every life that had been lost in all the villages, and the last clanman that he has ever met after Madara.

They all said their blessings to the souls that were now somewhere else as they then continued on with their lives.

Kakashi never forgot the stare Obito had given him before they parted ways.

The first count; "Make sure to protect Rin... Okay?"

And, "Take care, Kakashi." counting as second. The second time I had to watch him go.

But he was happy. At least, this time Obito died satisfied. Because Kakashi knew that the Obito before, the one that had been squashed by that rock, did not want to die.

It was as if his gaze alone was saying, I'm too young to die.

But he accepted it anyway. He was a true Shinobi-no. He still is.

Kakashi didn't wash his hand anymore after Obito had showed them that he was alive.

Rather, he woke up as bright as ever. Even when he knew Obito now despised him.

Not for killing Rin, no, Rin had done that by herself, but because he failed to protect Rin in the first place.

Every morning when he had time he visited Obito's resting place with Rin, Kushina and Minato.

He placed flowers in their stones and stayed there for a while, talking to basically no one about his day with a smile beneath his mask.

The headstones said nothing but he knew they were listening from above in their new world.

Naruto sometimes also joined him there when he too had time off from his studying, and they talked for a long time until Naruto had to go because he forgot his homework. Kakashi would only laugh at that face he makes, so much like Obito's when he was late during a Genin team photoshoot.

Kakashi knew that Obito had forgave him long before he had died, and so did Rin, Kushina and Minato for him not protecting them, but he still tried to make it up to them by polishing their gravestones and putting flowers on there.

He was going to wait patiently.

Patiently for the day that he can finally join all the people that he had lost along the way.

-----

Obito suddenly felt goosebumps on his arms, like the time he felt someone thank him.

But this time, he just felt as if someone had mentioned his name.

'I wonder who it is.' he thought before shrugging and going back to sleep.

His problems with the broken mask could be fixed tomorrow, when he no longer had a new blooming headache.
