Luke's POV
When I finally pushed the door open to my apartment I saw that Calum wasn't there. Usually if we went to a club he always crashed at my place. Now I was becoming worried but I didn't have a freaking phone to call him. I'll give him at least another hour before I start looking. Knowing Calum, he could've easily picked up a girl and took her home.
I carefully placed the napkin with Ashton's number on it in my pocket. I plopped down on my couch with nothing but my thoughts of the curly haired boy. I've never been this easily captivated by someone before. I've never seen eyes that's held an equal amount of light and darkness. Although I haven't figured out the dark part yet, I was perfectly content with the light.
I had no idea what was going to happen. The future had scared me because mine has always been uncertain. But with Ashton, it seemed to be okay that my path was still blurred. The excitement of venturing into it only grew. The punk has somehow started the spark I've craved in my gray world.
Wow, Luke you're so deep.
I shook my head and jumped up. I then did something I haven't done in a while. Grabbing my acoustic guitar from my case, I returned to the couch. I quickly tuned it since I haven't exactly played it for weeks.
I allowed my fingers to glide across the strings and instantly began smiling at the beautiful sounds the instrument produced. I hummed a little bit and my mind drifted in and out of thoughts. I was reminded why I fell in love with playing . The fact that it let me think or not think. I could just be as I am and fill my being with music. I was alone yet comforted in a perfect balance of sanity and insanity. I could play for hours and only felt like a few minutes.
I was robbed of that feeling though when my front door busted up. I shot up and turned to see a very happy and tired Calum standing there. He almost looked... high?
"What the fuck happened to you?" I breathed.
Calum's dark eyes lit up even more and a blush appeared on his cheeks. His tan hand scratched the back of his neck as he closed the door and made his way over to me. The raven boy motioned for me to sit down and I knew this was going to be a wild ride.
"You saw that guy I was dancing with last night?" He asked, biting down on his lip.
I didn't even have to ask why because I easily figured it out. My eyes grew wide in realization and shock. I couldn't believe he would do that. Not that I'm not insanely happy for him, it's just he's the straightest person I know.
"No way. Shut up. Calum, oh my gosh." I squealed.
"It's not that big of a deal." He said shrugging. The dark boy moved to stand up but I yanked his ass back down.
"Are you kidding me? This is huge! Tell. Me. Everything." I gasped.
He groaned and reluctantly nodded.
"So his name is Michael and-"
"MALUM!" I screeched at the top of my lungs.
"What the?" He flinched at the loud outburst.
"It's your ship name." I chirped, earning a huge eye roll from Calum.
"Anyways. We were dancing forever and I kinda sorta forgot about you Luke I'm so sorry. But Michael and I were showing off our really terrible dance moves and we started drinking a lot. I just remember a short taxi ride and ending up at his place." He shrugged again, attempting to ignore my ecstatic shrieks. Before I could press for further information he cut me off.
"Where did you go? I couldn't get a hold of you."
My mood immediately fell and Calum took notice. His features curved into a frown as he waited for an explanation. I really didn't know how to explain any of this.
