~~~Saving Ben Hanscom~~~
"Fuck, guys he's hurt bad, we gotta help," Adelaide, Eddie and Stan helped lift the boy out of the water.
They helped the boy out to Bill's bike, and he climbed onto the back fender of Silver. Blood covered the boy's lower shirt, around his tummy. Adelaide thought she had seen him before but she hadn't known his name and he was probably a year older than her.
The boy had a rounded chubby face, his hair a dirty blonde mess and his face was red and tired. All of them pedaled their bicycles out of the Barrens, through the tall trees that scattered the land, making sure not to pass Bassey Park, where Henry Bowers and his gang were at.
The boy had managed to let out the name of his tormentor who had carved the letter H onto his stomach. It was none other than Bowers and company. The center of the Barrens, or rather, the non-sewerside of the Barrens were quite cool with lush plants and trees that surrounded the area.
But Adelaide knew it was not a time to enjoy the nature, and how the breeze danced her hair that she hadn't gotten to tie or at least secure with a clip due to the sole focus to rush the boy to someplace safe. It seemed to her that her friends knew the boy, even Stanley, but she still hadn't the faintest idea what his name was.
As they cycled through the forest, nearing light and entrance of town, Eddie had begun his usual rambling of germs and diseases. Their ears were filled with Eddie's high voice that went on too fast for anyone to actually understand and process. He was talking about how they had to think about themselves, too. There was an AIDS epidemic going on at the moment, apparently. He continued to tell how a friend of his mother in New York City got it just by touching a hangnail.
"A hangnail!" He screamed as they crossed the main road into town.
"Eds, plea-"
"And, you can amputate legs and arms, but how do you amputate a waist? HOW DO YOU AMPUTATE A WAIST?"
"Eddie, please," Adelaide groaned, one of her legs brought down from the pedal to stop the movement of her bike as they turned into an alley.
"You guys do know alleys are known for dirty needles, right?"
"Oh my God," she rolled her eyes, helping Bill to bring the injured nameless boy to sit on a crate, leaning him against the wall. "Is that okay?" She whispered to the boy's ears as he slowly leaned back, nodding gratefully.
"Ah, we're screwed," Bill let out silently, taking a step back, his hands running through his hair. "Richie, Del, wait here," he instructed and the two obliged.
Stan and Eddie rushed to Bill and they ran out of the alley, on the other side from where they entered. They made a turn to the right, heading for Mr. Keene's drugstore where they could get supplies that would help the wounded boy.
