~~~Defeating IT (II)~~~
The Losers were standing, looking horrified at the sight except Richie who was still sat on the ground. Adelaide felt something touch her hand at the back.
She almost let out a yelp but she saw that it was a metal pipe that Stan was handing to her. The clown was oblivious to the exchange and she felt her fingers tighten around it.
"Leave," Bill croaked out, his voice hoarse as his eyes looked at the Losers, finally landing on Adelaide's. "I'm the one who dragged you into all of this," he struggled with his words. "I-I-I'm so s-s-s-sorry," his voice was so pained as he looked at Adelaide and she could taste the saltiness of her tears that had fallen.
"S-S-S-Sorry," the clown mocked.
There was silence that fell upon them as the Losers only looked at Bill. Adelaide wasn't sure what ran through the others' minds but she knew what ran in hers.
It was Bill. She could never leave him. She wouldn't. Adelaide knew she would fight the clown even if it was the last thing she did. She knew that she would gladly risk her life for Bill, and the others.
She knew that if she was in his position, and she demanded that they leave, he would never. He would stay and fight. Not just if it was her. He would do the same for anyone, even those he didn't know.
That was Bill Denbrough. Ever so brave, ever so kind. Just because he was willing to sacrifice himself, she wasn't going to let that happen without a fight.
"GO!" Bill cried out, pleading while the clown laughed.
"Guys, w-we can't!" Beverly reminded, looking at the others.
Adelaide realized then as she scanned the Losers' faces that she wasn't the only one willing to stay. None of them would leave Bill.
What ran through Adelaide's mind ran through the others' as well. Adelaide gave a small nod to the others, but the clown was still oblivious to the exchange.
"I-I'm sorry," Bill sniffled.
Richie finally stood up, his eyes never once leaving Bill. Adelaide was a little worried but she knew not to doubt Richie. "I told you, Bill," Richie began. "I fucking told you. I don't wanna die. It's your fault," he said before he began walking slowly towards the pile, his eyes down on his fingers, counting them as he listed. "You punched me in the face, you made me walk through shitty water, you brought me to a fucking crackhead house! And now," he slowed at the end, stopping his movements as the clown glared at him. Richie took out a baseball bat from the pile of junks, tilting his head slightly as he challenged the clown. "I'm gonna have to kill this fucking clown." Adelaide readied her pipe. The clown threw Bill to the side and lunged towards Richie. "WELCOME TO THE LOSERS CLUB, ASSHOLE!"
