"Let's get along from now on."

"Meow." You answered. This isn't so bad after all.

Soft. You rubbed your right cheek against something fluffy, feeling a comfortable touch on your fur before you woke up. Eyes widened upon the sight of a small bedroom, you tried to collect your memory about the previous event. I was toyed with by the kids till someone walked by and stopped them... That's right! You lifted up your brows, realizing that you went unconscious in his arms after that.

Your eyes casted around his minimalist room dominated by the white and chocolate brown colors, having a brief review of the surrounding. You're on a small cat bed placed on his double mattress, facing backward at the sliding window that captured the full view of the street below. You glanced at the bookcase headboard to your left, noticing the books about dogs and cats were categorized into two different groups. Hardcover encyclopedia or anatomy, the academic heavy hitters were on the left, and the crowdpleasers like animal behaviors were on the other side. The cute bedside table kind of stood out to you. Square shape, wood frame and two white drawers, with a metal lantern-shaped lamp on top, giving the touch for the small corner. In the middle of the room was a small coffee table in its rectangular shape and round corners, facing the hall where the kitchen was located.

You kept turning your head clockwise until a low tone voice echoed in your ears. "Wake up already?"

You shook your head and glanced around the room at a quick pace. There was literally no one here except you and... a dog? At the end of the bed, a fully grown American Doberman, covered with a glistening coat of black, rose up from the ground. He took a few steps forward before sitting down in front of you. Prick ear, perfect physique, as expected from the dogkind's nobleman. "What's with the shocking face?" He asked.

"Nothing!" You instantly responded. Well, your mouth can fib but your heart can't lie. You did impress by his fine appearance but then you got your senses back. "Wait... are you talking to me?" You asked in a bewildered face again.

The dog lowered his inner brows to make a face as confused as you, "Who else is here apart you and me? I'm not talking to myself, you know? He honestly answered.

Your eyes blinked continually while trying your best to be practical. Okay, okay... Calm down [First name]-chan. You cooled your head down. A dog is talking to me. I'm talking to a dog... I'm insane, aren't I? The more you thought, the weirder it got. As your head was spinning around, another voice raised up that caught your attention.

"Maybe she needs time to process things. She just came back from the battlefield after all." You heard footsteps jumping on the stairs. "I didn't even dare to look. Her body was covered in wounds." Running towards you with those short cute legs was a grown Welsh Corgi in her red and white fur. "You should start by introducing yourself first, and relax a bit, your face looks like wanting to chomp off her head."

You froze with a strain smile before starting to perspire, did she just say chomp?

"I scared her? You think?" He kept his eyes on the female dog while head was leaning towards your direction. She didn't get the message at first until she saw your pale face and got all puzzled.

"N-no, no! Don't be like that! He's not gonna chomp---"

"Ehem!" The male dog coughed heavily as a reminder.

"Oops..." She grinned guiltily but managed to change another subject, "My bad. Anyway, I'm Femi. This big guy here is Hugo. What's your name?" She asked.
