It took George's mind a minute to process this.
Karl liked Sapnap? It did make sense, the two had always been close. Sapnap had always had a wall put up for everyone else, but definitely a soft spot of Karl.
"But- but I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same," the fluffy haired boy sniffled out.
And there it was. The harsh truth that George knew all too well.
"Karl, I'm going to be honest with you. I think you should go for it. I see the way he looks at you, I see how you too are together," George said rubbing his friend's back.
"But what if I ruin what we have? What if- he thinks I'm weird?" Karl said looking up at George with dried tear streaks on his face.
"If he really cares about you, he won't let it change your friendship. You guys have always been close," the Brit reassures the man, however he can still see uncertainty in his eyes.
"Can I tell you something that you have to promise to keep a secret?" George asks warily. Did he really want to do this?
Karl nodded his head and used his sweater sleeve to dry the left over tears in his eyes.
"I- I like dream-" just as he spit out the words he was interrupted by the back door swinging open.
"George! Guess what? Me and Sophie just made it official!" The eager blonde haired boy exclaimed.
George's heart dropped. He had trained himself on how to act in these moments, seeing that they had happened quite a lot in their friendship.
"That's great Dream! I'm so happy for you," George said with the biggest smile he could mange as his heart continued to break into pieces.
It always bothered him when Dream got a girlfriend. However his feelings had never been this strong before. It hurt worse than it normally did.
Dream smiled and ran back inside.
Karl looked at George apologetically and brought the boy into a hug. He let a few tears spill from his eyes and soak into the other's purple hoodie.
"I'm proud of you for telling me George, I promise I won't tell anyone," Karl started, "now I think we could both use a drink right now," he said squeezing the boy tightly.
They agreed and headed back inside, making it a point to find Big Q so he could make them that disgusting drink again.
The two wallowed in self pity as they watched Sapnap dance with a group of girls and Dream and Sophie make out in the living room. The vial drink started to taste less bad with each sip.

Both boys were already planning on staying the night at Sapnap's. With this fact in mind, they did not hold back. After an hour more of drinking basically everything they could get their hands on, they were both drunk. Very drunk.
Maybe that's why the alcohol had no bite to it. Maybe that's why when Karl asked if he was okay, all he could do was drink more. Maybe that's why Karl seemed to not care at all when he saw Sapnap dancing on the dance floor with a girl with Dream and Sophie right next to them.
Maybe that's why the two decided to join them.
If they were sober, this would never be happening. They would both turn and walk the complete opposite direction until the upsetting sight was finally out of view. But they weren't sober.
They pushed past people until they got to the very center of the living room. The colorful lights bounced around the room and the whole house was shaking. The boys did not hold back. They danced around and loved every moment of it. When George caught Dream's eye, it only made him want to dance more.
