*six years later*
"C'mon George we're gonna be late!" Dream called out to his fiancé as they rushed to grab their coats.
They hurried down the stairs on their apartment building to the busy streets of New York City. They snow fell and landed all around them as they called a taxi over.
They hopped in, immediately thankful for the rush of warm air that invited them in. Dream gave the man the address and they were off.
About 30 minutes later, they pulled into the airport. Dream thanked the man and grabbed George's hand as they rushed out to find the terminal they were looking for. The Brit's teeth chattered as they desperately looked around.
"Gogy!" The two heard a voice coming from behind them.
George cringed at the old high school nickname but soon got over it as Karl tackled him in a hug, completely disregarding his suitcase at Sapnap's feet.
"Hey guys!" Quackity called out, followed Sapnap over to the rest of them.
"Merry almost Christmas!" Sapnap said, giving Dream a hug.
The boys all caught up as they waited for another taxi.
-
Once they arrived back at the apartment, they ran inside to get away from the cold.
When they reached their room, Dream unlocked the door and let everyone in. George took Karl and Sapnap to one of the guest bedrooms and Dream took Big Q to the other.
They boys unpacked and Dream ordered a pizza.
-
Once the pizza arrived they all gathered in the living room on the couches and fell into comfort conversation that occasionally erupted into laughter while stuffing their faces.
They talked about what had been going on lately and Dream and George's wedding plans for the summer.
-
Later in the night, Dream helped Sapnap and Quackity drag out all of the Christmas presents they brought and place them under the brightly lit tree.
Karl and George retreated to the kitchen to bake some cookies.
"Sooo, how are you and Sap?" The Brit asked, easing an eye brow in Karl's direction.
"We've been really good, I think he's going to propose soon," The fluffy haired brunette said giggling as he mixed in the chocolate chips to the batter.
"That's so great Karl! I'm so happy for you guys!" George beamed back.
"How have you been lately? Like mental health wise?" Karl asked genuinely.
"I've been actually really good. I'm really happy here. I've got a great job and I'm getting married in a few months. I've been going to therapy to keep up my good relationship with food and over all, I'm the best I've ever been,"
-
The five boys spent the night watching Christmas movies, eating cookies, and sipping on hot coco, just like the good old days.
They all basked in each others company, happy to be reunited again.
George looked around at all the people he loved so dearly. He snuggled up next to Dream on the couch and the blonde wrapped his arm around him. He felt so loved, so appreciated. When he was here, nothing could touch him.
He had worked so hard for so long to get to this point, and it all paid off. He was living his dream life. This is everything he had ever wanted. He was finally at peace with himself.
In that moment, he realized love wasn't just a word.
