It's not that George was intentionally avoiding Dream at school, he just couldn't bear to see him walking hand-in-hand with his now girlfriend. He couldn't stomach the fact that it would never be him.

However it was hard. Dream is his best friend. He can't just stay away from him, especially since their in the same friend group.

Everyday at lunch George would have to swallow his pride and take his normal seat next to him. Except now on the other side of the blonde was his girlfriend, not Sapnap.

And it didn't help that Sophie was perfect in every way. Her light brunette hair was long and shiny. Her blue eyes lit up whenever she talked. Her teeth were perfectly white and straight. She was short and seemed to have society's ideal body type.

It also didn't help that she seemed to always have a healthy lunch. George was constantly comparing himself to her. He seemed to be eating less and less these days, however no one noticed.

Except Karl.

After lunch one day, when Dream and Sophie had left early to go to class, Karl pulled him aside.

"Hey George! Do you want me to bring you a lunch tomorrow?" The boy asked kindly

"Huh?" George responded, genuinely confused.

"I just noticed you haven't had a lunch this past week or so, and I always bring mine so I can bring you one too!" Karl said with a smile

"Oh uh, it's alright Karl. Thankyou though, I really appreciate it! I just prefer to eat at home," George said lying straight through his teeth.

Karl gave him a nod and said goodbye before heading to his class.

It was heart warming, the fact that Karl cared, but it also made George feel bad. He didn't want others worrying about him.

The next few days dragged on. George was going to sleep over at Dream's on Saturday, and that was one of the only things getting me through the week.

However what he didn't expect was his phone repeatedly ringing at 3am Saturday morning.

George groggily turned over to check his phone. He was going to silence it until he saw Dream in bright white letters across the screen. He picked it up to be met with a distraught voice.

"H-hey, I'm outside. Can I come in?"

George immediately got up and crept down his stairs. He unlocked the front door to be faced with the blonde with tears running down his face. He quickly motioned for him to come in and lead the two up to his room.

Once inside, he shut the door and turned on his lamp. Dream completely broke down.

He sat down on George's bed and started to silently sob. It was hard for George to figure out what he was saying but when he handed him his phone, he saw.

Pictures of Sophie making out with some random guy was plastered across the screen.

George felt terrible. Dream didn't deserve this.

He carefully placed himself on the bed next to Dream and brought him into a hug.

Yes, the relationship had not lasted long. However, George had never seen Dream so head over heels for someone.

He let the boy cry in his arms. He knew he was hurting.

He had an idea, he slowly got up and crawled across the bed to his window. He opened it and climbed out, looking at Dream who soon did the same.
