Chapter 19

"Ate!" Andrea laughed.

"Why is it wrong?" I worriedly asked.

She nodded and taught me the right way to put it. She said that the ingredients need to sift first before I put it in the bowl. I always nodded when she taught me the right way. It's so cute when I imagine Andrea and her Mom baking as their bonding.

Andrea is Andrei's little sister. Andrei called me earlier because her sister wanted to meet me so I insisted on going to their house since I have nothing to do naman. Now, Andrei is with her Mom, buying groceries. Wala daw kasing magda-drive papunta roon kaya si sinama niya si Andrei. So, me and Andrea are the only ones in the house.

"Alam mo ba, Ate?" she said after she turned on the oven to bake the cookies we made. "Naalala ko dati na sinabi ko kay Kuya na kapag nagconfesed siya sa taong gusto niya, malaki ang chance na makakamove on siya,"

I nodded, interested.

"At alam ko na kasi noon na hindi siya aamin kahit anong pilit ko kaya sabi ko pwede niyang idaan sa letter kung gusto niya, hindi ko lang alam kung ginawa niya,"

I chuckled. "So, that's why he gave me a letter?"

Her eyes lit up to me after I said that. "Really? Ginawa iyon ni Kuya?!"

"You don't know?" I asked and she shook her head. "He actually said in the letter that you tell him to do that," she burst a laughed at alam ko na agad na mamumula si Andrei sa inis pagdating niya dito dahil hindi siya titigilan ni Andrea.

After the cookies were done. We arranged it in a cute box and we ate the others that were not aesthetically pleasing in the eye. I actually expected it to taste bad because it's slightly burned but it still tastes so good! Andrea is actually a good baker!

"You should actually pursue baking! This is so delicious!" I said, joking.

"Really?"

"Yes!"

She chuckled. "I actually want to, Ate but my parents are both successful and Kuya is gonna be a doctor. I'm scared that I'm not gonna be successful like them..."

I put my arms on her shoulders. "Think positive! If you really love baking then why don't you pursue it, right? I know that your parents and your kuya will support you,"

She nodded.

If there's one thing I learned in this life, that is you will never be happy even if others think that you're successful if you do not love what you're doing. Always choose what you love. Life is short for you not to enjoy it.

I was finding my phone out of my bag when I heard Andrea speak.

"Kuya, may sinabi nga pala sa akin si Ate..."

I immediately turned at them and eyed her. I mouthed 'huwag mong sasabihin' but she just grinned. Grabe! Magkapatid nga sila ni Andrei!

"Ano 'yon?" Andrei turned at me, curious.

"Nothing." I said.

"Ano 'yon, Andrea?" he said. My mouth went open when he ignored what I said.

"Wala, joke lang," she said before she ran to her room, laughing. I bid my goodbye to Tita Beth and Andrei insisted that he will walk me to our house. We put our masks on before we started walking back to our house.

These past few months flew by so quickly. I can't believe that it's been a month since my debut and since... Andrei started to court me. He's been so consistent to text me 'good morning' and 'good night' everyday and it really felt nice. He's my first suitor so I don't really know how to act towards him but he said that I just be myself.

"Andrei," I called him. He hmm as a response. "Why did you like me?"

I felt him stare back at me.

"I don't know, I just... woke up one day and..." he chortled. "... found myself always waiting for your dismissal so I can see you," he laughed.

I found myself smiling at him as he told me all the things he does just to have a glimpse of me. I don't really have an idea that someone likes me this much from afar. I remember that when the rumor reached me, I couldn't believe it because of how big the differences were between each other.

"At kung may nagsabi sa akin dati na darating tayo sa ganito... " he shook his head. "... baka tawanan ko lang kung sino man ang magsasabi no'n,"

I sniffed. He's acting like I am a queen that is so really hard to reach and very imposible to like him. Now that I think of it. I can clearly remember how my girl classmates envy me because of that rumor.

And I can really understand now why.

He's so precious.

I find a new hobby which is making beads bracelet. I was planning to make a couple bracelets for me and Mizuki.

She's really been busy these days because her parents started to train her how to run their company but surprisingly she's loving it and I'm glad. Yesterday, she happily announced that she finally confessed to her parents that she is a bisexual and I'm happy that her parents supported her. I'm really proud.

I reached my phone at the side table when it vibrated.

I looked at the new message from our group chat. My heart started to race when I saw the announcement from the professors.

'ANNOUNCEMENT: Grades distribution on the twenty ninth of March, Saturday. Announcement for virtual graduation for graduating students will soon be announced. Thank you.'

In a few months. I'm a college student now.

I sighed. "I still have a long way to go,"
