Chapter Eleven

"I don't want that! I said I want to see my Mommy!" Malayo pa lamang ay naririnig ko na ang boses ni Devon. My meeting just got finished and I left him with his new nanny for the meantime. 

I opened the door inside my office and I saw the car toy being thrown away. His nanny picked up the toy and tried to calm my son. But Devon threw the toy again and the girl was hit on the forehead. I sighed. This son of mine is too hard to handle.

Devon's nanny turned around while crying. She was even shocked when she saw me at the door. 

"Sir, Magreresign na po ako. Hindi ko na po kayang alagaan si sir Devon" umiiyak na sabi nito. 

I looked at her coldly and turned to Rafael, my secretary. 

"Give her the salary for this month" Rafael gave her the check and the girl immediately left. 

"Devon, what is your problem?" I placed both my hands on my waist and looked at Devon who's whining on the sofa.

"Dad! I want to see Mommy Leigh!" He shouted and I sighed harshly.

"We are in Manila, Devon." Nagtitimping wika ko. I haven't been to Devon's side for a very long time and I am really bad at handling kids. I get angry easily and lose patience. 

Calm down Damon, he is your son. 

"But I want to see Mommy! I want my Mommy!" He shouted again at napahilot ako sa sentido. I suddenly felt an urge to bring him back to England and let my parents take care of him for eternity. 

Thinking of Leigh, there's also a part of me wanting to see her. I didn't even have a chance to talk to her after I got angry and messed everything up. 

Then something happened to the office and I needed to come back here to Manila. I turned to Rafael.

"Rafael, prepare the car" 

"Yes sir"

"Leigh, pakidala naman nito sa table 5" pakiusap ni Anna. Tumutulong kasi siya ngayon sa kusina dahil may isa kaming kasama na absent. 

Naipasok ko na din pala si Rizza dito sa restobar pero napunta siya sa kabilang grupo kaya panggabi ang shift niya. She's also staying at the staffhouse.

Agad kong kinuha ang pagkain na inabot niya at dinala sa table 5. 

"Orders complete. Anything you want ma'am, sir?" 

"We're good. Thank you" the girl said and smiled at me. 

Ngumiti ako at tumalikod na. Masyadong maraming tao ngayon sa restaurant. Siguro dahil marami ding mga bakasyunista ang nagpupunta ngayon sa Batangas. 

It's been two days since I last met Devon, Damon's son. I am still surprised na meron na pala siyang anak. I wonder what happened to Devon's mom para mag react ng ganun si Damon. 

Napabuntong hininga ako. I still can't forget the anger in his eyes that time. 

"Ang lalim nun Leigh ha, may problema ka ba?" Napatingin ako kay Mikaela na nasa tabi ko na pala. 

Umiling ako. 

"Naisip ko lang na sobrang dami pala ng nagpupunta dito kapag umaga kahit weekdays. Hindi ako sanay" sagot ko na lamang sa kanya. 

"Sikat ang Gourmet Place dito sa Batangas. Kapag may mga bakasyunista na pumupunta sa mga resort sa katabing bayan, hindi pwedeng hindi nila dadaanan itong restaurant. Isa pa, malawak ang koneksyon ni sir Cedric. Kaya halos karamihan ng pumupunta dito, mga may sinasabi sa lipunan" paliwanag nito at umalis na para magdala ng order sa isang table.
