Chapter Nineteen - Her identity

"This way please," wika ng waiter na siyang sumalubong sa amin pagdating namin sa restaurant.

Kahit gustong gusto kong tumanggi at hindi sumama kina Damon ay wala na akong nagawa dahil kay Devon. Napabuntong hininga na lamang ako.

Pagpasok namin sa restaurant ay agad kong itinungo ang ulo para itago ang aking mukha dahil baka may makakilala sa akin. Naramdaman ko naman ang paghila sa akin ni Devon.

"Mommy, is there a problem?" tanong sa akin ni Devon. Napansin ko naman ang paglingon sa akin ni Damon. Nasa unahan namin siya at nauunang maglakad.

Agad akong umiling at ngumiti.

"Wala, don't mind me, okay?" I caressed his cute and small face and then ruffled his hair.

He smiled back at me.

Damon looked at me with his usual indifferent and expressionless eyes. "Are you not comfortable here?" he asked. His tone is full of authority. I saw the waiter beside him stiffened. I'm sure Damon's a respected VIP here and they can't afford to offend him.

I shook my head hurriedly. "I'm really okay. Don't mind me." I answered.

Damon looked at me seriously and turned his head in front. I sighed when he continued walking.

I held Devon's hand tightly and followed Damon to his reserved room.

After we made our order and the waiter left, the room went silent.

"You met that man earlier." Damon voiced out and I looked at him. Is he referring to Kier?

"You mean Kier?" matalim na tingin ang ipinukol niya sa akin.

'What really is his problem?'

"First name basis huh," he arched his eyebrows and I frowned at him.

"He's not my boss anymore." I said and I noticed Damon frowned even more. Sometimes, I really can't understand him. I avoided his gaze and focused on my phone. Devon is busy playing on his tablet. I guess he's playing minecraft again.

"Why is he here in Manila?" Damon continued to ask and I glanced at him.

He's being more talkative than usual.

"Why are you interested? I suddenly remember you saying that you don't care about him." I asked and my lips curled up. I remember he said that once when I was sick and he fetched me from work.

Tila nabigla naman siya sa sinabi ko.

"I--" he cleared his throat and shifted his eyes to Devon. "Nevermind. Just don't get near him."

"He's my friend." I said and scrolled through my phone.

"Just do what I said." matigas na wika nito. I laughed dryly. I really don't get him at all. One second he's acting like he doesn't care at all and one second he's getting bossy.

"You can't make me," I smirked at him at nakita ko ang pag igting ng kanyang panga. I smiled at him sweetly.

He was about to talk back when the waiter came and placed the food we ordered. I turned to Devon.

"Devon, stop playing. We are going to eat." Devon looked at me and nodded.

"Okay mommy!" He gave me his tablet and I put it inside my bag. I smiled. Devon is being obedient and I am proud of him.

I helped Devon get his food before getting mine. Hindi ko na pinansin si Damon at inasikaso na lamang si Devon.

Sa kalagitnaan ng pagkain ay biglang nagsalita si Damon.
