Chapter Thirteen - Jealous?

Chapter Thirteen

"Teka nga Damon, bitawan mo na ang kamay ko. Kaya kong maglakad mag isa" I told Damon at hinigit ang kamay ko mula sa kanya. Napatigil siya sa paglalakad at lumingon sa akin. 

"Do you like that bastard?" Naniningkit ang matang tanong nito sa akin.

"Philip?" I asked although I knew that he's the one Damon is referring to.

Tumingin siya sa akin at hindi sumagot. 

I crossed my arms at tinaasan siya ng kilay.

"Wait, are you jealous?" I just asked him bluntly. Because he's always acting like this. Haven't I told him not to confuse me with his acts? But he's still doing the same thing over and over again. 

Ilang segundo lang siyang nakatingin sa akin hanggang sa bigla siyang ngumisi. 

"Jealous? Tch." Tumalikod na si Damon at nagsimula ng maglakad. Napamaang naman ako sa reaksyon nito. 

That's it? 

Leigh. What are you expecting?

I held my head. I was just joking and teasing him, but why do I feel hurt with the way he responded?

"Wait, are you jealous?" I was a bit stunned when Leigh said those words.

Am I being jealous? Wait, what does it feel to be jealous?

I suddenly remembered the scene when I saw him talking to Rafael, my secretary while they were smiling to each other. 

I clenched my fist tight. She never talked to me that way. 

If only Rafael is not my secretary, I already knocked him off several times. 

I walked towards Rafael and whispered to him, "Rafael, stop smiling at her or I'll send you to Underground for intense training" 

Rafael became stiff when he heard the word Underground. Rafael is part of El Griego. And Underground is where the members are trained harshly, like hell. So it is understandable that Rafael didn't even want to enter the Underground again. 

I thought I already got rid of one fly, but then Philip showed up. 

I looked at Leigh's hand. Suddenly, I felt like rubbing those hands with alcohol to disinfect them. That Adams, I will have him talk to my fist later. 

"Jealous? Tch'' I turned my back because I didn't know how to answer her. Jealous? Hell, yeah. I am jealous and I don't want flies flying around what's mine.

"Sir, this is the fifth time that sir Devon's nanny resigned in just one week. It's already difficult to hire another babysitter for him." Rafael reported.

Napahilot ako ng sentido. It's been a week since I last saw Leigh and Devon's being too difficult to handle now. 

I sighed harshly. 

"You can go," I said. Rafael slightly bowed and went out of the room. 

"Having problems with Devon?" Matt asked. All of them, including Titus, are here in my office. We had just finished discussing the construction of a new hotel in Makati. They decided to hold the meeting here dahil mas malapit ang location ng lugar sa office ko. 

Titus' and Matt's other businesses include condominiums and hotels in which we are all business partners. Our company is involved in manufacturing high quality furniture and home decors, Stanley's family company ventures in appliances and gadgets while Cedric's business includes manufacturing of construction materials and such. 

"Yeah"

"What happened?" Titus asked. Stanley was busy with his laptop while Cedric was scrolling through his phone. 

"I can't find a babysitter" 

Then I started telling them all the things Devon were doing that made his babysitters give up.

"No wonder, Devon really took after Damon," balewalang sabi ni Stanley at agad ko siyang sinamaan ng tingin. Then he acted like he's zipping his mouth and continued working with his laptop.

"Devon is in the age where he really gets so stubborn. You just have to endure it" Matt said. 

"Why don't you hire a sexy nanny? Maybe Devon will behave," Cedric suggested and I threw my ballpen at him. This bastard.

"Aray naman!" Napahimas ito sa parte ng ulo na tinamaan ng ballpen. 

"Stop spouting nonsense, Cedric" saway ni Titus kay Cedric. 

"Okay okay! Ang boring niyo" hindi ko na siya pinansin at tiningnan ang resume ng mga potential babysitters ni Devon. 

"I heard from ate Karina that Devon's calling Leigh mommy. Is that true?" Matt asked. Ate Karina is Cedric's cousin. We are also close to her. She's bestfriends with ate Tania, Titus' sister. 

Leigh. Hearing that name suddenly made my heart flutter. 

"Yeah"

"In that case, why don't you offer her to become Devon's babysitter? Devon's comfortable with her. At the same time, I think Leigh is good when it comes to handling kids." Matt continued. I looked at him. Why didn't I think of it? But I don't know if Leigh will agree. 

"Wait! Are you pirating my employee? In front of me?" Protesta ni Cedric. 

Tinapik ni Matt ang balikat ni Cedric. 

"Madali kang makakahanap ng kapalit ni Leigh sa restobar, but Devon's babysitter is too hard to find. Wag mong sabihing hindi mo pagbibigyan ang inaanak mo?" Matt said, making Cedric guilty. 

"Oo na. Sige na. You can ask Leigh if she wants to become Devon's babysitter." He said defeatedly and went back to scrolling his phone. 

"You can try Damon," Titus said and I nodded. This idea somehow made me excited too.
