I was just staring out of the window while the teacher was teaching Maths.
"Hikari would you mind solving this question?" The teacher asked me not necessarily picking on me since in Japan people were actually allowed to sleep in class due to the hard work and study load so day dreaming was normal too...I guess.
I looked at Light who was smirking at me. 'Oh so he thinks I don't know how to do this minuscule of question. How can he think of me as such a disgrace.' I thought. Then I did a wait and watch sign and went up to the board to do the question.

"Great job Hikari. I knew you'd be able to do it." The teacher said and I went back to my desk. I looked back and saw that Light had a shocked expression so to make it worse I stuck my tongue out and tease him.
"How?" He asked obviously about how I got the answer but what ever.
"Are you underestimating me?" I asked raising my brow and he changed his expression and now it just looked proud.
"No it's just we haven't even started this yet and you knew exactly how to solve this. You never cease to impress me." Hearing that I started giggling like a 10 year old girl.
"Um could I get Hikari Tanaka please?" Someone said from the front of the class and I faced them.
"Here. What was it you needed from me?"
"Oh could we see you outside please. It's urgent."
"Yes." I said and followed them outside after giving Light a simple yet reassuring smile.
"Yes?"I asked.
"You've got a call from someone named Williams Wyatt. He says it's urgent." I was confused about who it might've been but then remembered that both names has a W so there's a huge chance it might've been Watari.
'Why's he calling me through school? He usually waits until school finishes. Well I'll see.' I took the phone from the teacher and put it against my earlobes.
"Hello? Watari?" I whispered into the phone since the teacher was literally growing holes into my head.
" V..." He trailed off. His voice sounding dejected.
"Yea, what's wrong? You sound so upset."
"V, James and Sara are..." Watari trailed off again. His words making me all the more worried.
"Mum and dad are what Watari? Why'd you stop?" I asked raising my voice a little. And without realising my eyes started watering. I waited for an answer from him but all that followed was silence.
"What happened to mum and dad Watari?" My voice was a little shaky. I knew where this conversation was going. I also knew exactly how dangerous their jobs were.
"They were murdered when on a mission. I'm sorry Hikari." Without realising I dropped to the floor. Quiet sobs escaped my mouth as tears ran like water fall never running out. I stayed there for quite some time. I could hear everything that was going on in the class room.
"Heh...Look at how ugly she looks when she cries."
"Right! Why is Yagami-Kun eventuating her."
"Poor soul...I wonder what happened."
"She must be acting. Don't you realise how much of an attention seeker she is?"
"No actually I think she looks pretty hot while crying." "I agree."
"Still she's such a freak though. She barely ever smiles. She never talks to anyone other than Yagami-Kun."
"True and that's not the only thing, how the fuck does she know how to solve that question when we haven't even been taught that before and this was for some advanced 11 class."
Not being able to take any of those disgusting comments I asked the teacher if I could call someone and went to a more secluded area to call L.
"Hello? L?" "V...I'm sorry it's all because of me."
"Did you kill them?" I asked between sobs.
"No...of course not."
"Then don't apologise. But please tell me who killed them." "Sorry V, I can't tell you, your parents asked me not to get you involved in this."
"L please. You know what this means to me." Silence followed. "Fine but can you help me find the person." I said very calmly but still he said nothing.
"How did they die? Just tell me that much." I asked starting to get more upset and angry.
"I can't tell you V and I can't meet you for a while."
"What do you mean?" Another silence filled with just my sobs.
"Fine! I'll only forgive you after you give me a proper explanation as to why they died." I said and hung up.
I bobbed down and cried for what seemed like hours but were merely some minutes. At that all I needed was L, Watari, Light or Kai to comfort me. Hug me warmly and tell me 'Everything will be okay. I'm here for you.'
I felt a warm hand placed on my shoulder. At other times I would've removed it, thinking it must've been some shit head pranking me but right now I was too numb to react in any ways. I was shocked when that hand pulled me over to their board chest. Without a second thought I started crying uncontrollably not caring about who that someone must've been. After a few minutes they finally said something and I immediately recognised their voice.
"Everything will be okay. I'll be here for you." Light.
"Light." I said sniffing a little.
"I'm here. I'm here don't worry. Just cry it out."
"My parents (hiccup) My parents were...My parents were killed while on a mission." I said and he said nothing. Just placed his chin on my head and drew circles on my back which immediately calmed me down. With out realising I fell asleep in his embrace. After that day every weekend Light makes sure to go to my parents grave with me. Take care of Jace and do literally anything to make me feel better.
