"Since I'm back... do I need to explain to you why I told Light all those things or do you understand?" I asked L, carefully putting the T.V remote down. It was the next morning after I returned. We were looking at the surveillance videos so I didn't bring it up.

He smirked, not looking at me.

'Of course he knows why I did it.'

"Thanks." He whispered.

"Why exactly?" I feigned ignorance.

"Thank you for keeping my death at bay..."

"I wanna know what I did and how amazing it was, explain all of it." I ordered, not wanting to praise my self but still wanting to be praised. L chuckled and turned to me. He held my face and started to explain.

"It all started from you never being made public. So V was kept a secret. Then when I made myself known to the suspect, you did the same, but only to the suspect and those you trust most. You knew Kira doesn't kill someone unless they're criminals, or if they're on his way, and could expose him. I was definitely on his way and he knew it. But you...he wasn't aware of how fast and how your brain worked so you used that. You got some crucial facts and made it clear to him that you're a threat too. That way either he had to kill both of us or none of us. If he kills you I'll know it's Light because it was him I suspected and not the other people who know you. It'll be clear. Light is Kira. If I was killed have no doubt you'll find something against him. Even of both of us were killed, no doubt the taskforce would suspect Light, if they're dumb enough not to, we still have near and Mello...But still didn't you guess too much?" He asked me. I held his hand on my cheek and chuckled.

"I did didn't I?" He nodded and slid his chair closer to me. He softly pecked the tip of my nose, and placed his forehead against mine. Slowly but surely, our faces inched closer until there was no gap. We were kissing. The warmth and softness of his lips melted me like I was some candle being lit, and the passion of the kiss, fire. I let my eyes shut from the spur of the moment. It felt like a trance, yet I remembered every detail from the moment. The butterflies in my stomach. His rapid heart beat, I felt from his hands that still refused to let go of my face. His calm, warm breath on my lips contradicting his fast paced heart. I opened my eyes, I wanted to see L's face while he was kissing me. He showed me way more emotions than he did anyone else, yet it wasn't enough. Everyday I thrived to see a new expression on his face. When, I did open my eyes, I was met with L still having his eyes open. His lids half close but he refused to let them close properly. I chuckled a little and took my hand of his and closed his eyes properly. I didn't close my eyes though, I focused on him. His features. I'd seen him close his eyes a lot but at that moment he looked more beautiful. An art from god, the one the god must've been the most proud of. Most would dislike his looks, because they believe beauty comes from being, neat, groomed, but they always forget to look at someone again after they've decided that person isn't attractive. I'm glad I didn't do that. Or I would've lost a gem. I'm glad, I turned back and got to know him more properly, I'm glad I looked at him properly. His eyes, they were an abyss from which nothing returned. His lips, pale yet soft. His face, pale like a sheet of paper and his dark circles...they were proof of his hard work and determination. I couldn't get these thoughts out of my head as our lips moved in sync. As we got more immersed into each other, it almost felt impossible to make us separate...until *ding* I slowly separated from the kiss and gazed at L's flushed face, his lips slightly pink from the kiss. I smiled and pecked him on the lip once more before grabbing my phone from the table. It was Light asking where I was.
