The feeling had gone and Tae was in panic mode. It's been two months since the feeling had last disappeared and that was just before he found the vampire in the alley.

Since that night, a new normality resumed but with more frequency and visits weren't just limited to his days off. On his walk home, he looked into the shadows and saw the creature that set his skin on fire and made him feel as if he was the most prized possession. Tae decided that night after he'd rescued the vampire, that he couldn't imagine a life without Jungkook in it and tonight was meant to be the night they were going to discuss the future properly.

But he'd walked home alone. There wasn't anyone lurking in the shadows and the absence of that spine chilling sensation was concerning him. He'd asked Jungkook why he gave him that particular feeling and the answer had been that he needed Tae to have his wits about him. Jungkook was always worried that Taehyung was an easy target for vampires as he walked home alone at night so the feeling he gave him was to make him aware but also to let him know that the vampire was watching over him. That feeling was the opposite to how Jungkook made him feel when they were together but now he was scared because he didn't feel a thing. He didn't know what to do, it wasn't like he had anyone he could ask so he paced his bedroom, with fear invading his senses. It was the intense feeling of helplessness that made him feel so nauseous. He had to rely solely on Jungkook, he wasn't allowed his phone number and had no means of contacting him. He'd been spoilt with visits whether he was at work or not. They didn't even have sex every time, some nights after a long shift, Taehyung was exhausted and the vampire would simply lay with him until he fell asleep. The worst part was waking up in the morning, knowing he'd be alone.

"Where are you?" The phlebotomist calls out, whilst standing in his bedroom. The feeling of loneliness hitting him hard.

The next two days are hell. Taehyung feels like he's grieving for someone he never really had. If one more person asks if he is okay, he might very well break down but he can't afford to do that because he knows the mental health nurse in the department would surely cart him off.

When he climbs into bed, as his head lays on the pillow, he makes the decision that on his day off tomorrow will be spent searching for Jungkook. He accepts that it is a stupid thing to want to do because he doesn't know where to start looking and he sure as hell has no idea where vampires live but he has to do something. If tomorrow turns up with nothing, he has one more idea: he's going to cut himself and stand somewhere isolated in the vain hope that vampires are like sharks and are attracted to blood. He understands that could get him killed, it's probably the thing that Jungkook was so concerned about but since the vampire is missing, there is the chance that putting his own life at risk might get him some attention, one way or another.

Searching the city wasn't easy. Google maps on his phone and walking around in the daylight looking for a creature of the night seemed like a dumb idea but he really was at his wits end. His stomach was growling at him, the snack he'd brought with him hadn't been enough and now it was complaining. He almost throws his phone in defeat because he doesn't have anything else to throw... except himself, but a tantrum wasn't the most mature response.

Dusk settles, late afternoon / early evening and he feels so defeated, especially now that his plan to bleed in the street in total darkness was his only viable option. Thankfully blood doesn't phase him, he'd be a shit phlebotomist if that were the case. As he walks through the streets heading home, thoughts turn to food and what he should use to cut himself tonight... and then... there it is...

... he stops abruptly... could it be?

There is a strong possibility that he's imagining it because he's been driving himself insane and yet he dares to believe that the feeling is back...
