"You want me to wear that?"
Taehyung laughed out loud, so loud that he snorted and clapped a hand over his mouth as he snorted for a second time which made him laugh more. His boss stared at him, allowing him to have his moment before choosing to confirm that yes, he did indeed want Taehyung to wear the fluffy carrot costume.
His boss handed him a tissue to wipe the tears that streamed down his face from the laughter that had started up again once Taehyung had felt the material and commented on how fluffy it was.
He was an aspiring actor who mainly got parts as an extra in dramas or for a television advertisement but when there wasn't much work about, he worked for a chocolate cafe in town. With Easter around the corner he had been tasked with dressing up as a giant carrot to hand out fliers advertising their new carrot cake, made specially for Easter which came with a hot chocolate if you ate in.
Taehyung was easy going and always up for a laugh, his group of friends loved nothing more than a fancy dress party so this didn't phase him in the slightest but he did find it highly amusing.
The next day he turned up to work dressed in the fluffy carrot costume, it was so soft and he had spent time laughing at himself in the mirror before he had left his home. The costume had two holes for his eyes and a mesh area over his mouth, he had rubbed some orange body paint on the parts of his lower legs and the whole of his arms that were poking out of the carrot. He found the fuzzy green fabric sprouting out of the top, to be the funniest part, he didn't know why, it was just amusing.
He wore his comfiest trainers, expecting to be on his feet all day and carried a bottle of water with him which fit neatly into a pocket that the carrot had, the mesh window attached with velcro so he could eat and drink.
Taehyung liked being with people, he loved seeing their faces when they saw the giant carrot walking up the street, especially the children who always wanted to touch.
"Mama, look at the carrot!" one little girl cried out, dragging her Mother by the hand towards Taehyung.
He giggled when the little girl asked him if he could talk and he nodded, bending down to offer her a carrot shaped chocolate from his basket and handing her Mother a leaflet.
Taehyung had had a good morning, his stomach grumbled and he realised it must be lunchtime so he sat on a chair outside the cafe and fed pieces of cake through the mesh window. The day was bright, thankfully it wasn't too warm or he was convinced that he would be a smelly sweaty carrot and he didn't want that.
After lunch he collected more leaflets and felt invigorated to repeat his successful morning, moving further up the street. It was a couple of hours in, when he felt a giggle bubbling in his throat, he blinked a few times and couldn't believe that there was a big fluffy grey bunny walking in his direction.
The giggle morphed into a full on belly laugh as the bunny approached, loud enough to get the rabbit's attention, who looked over. Taehyung couldn't contain his laughter and skipped over to the bunny to say hello.
The bunny was a mottled grey and white, big round fluffy head and body, huge furry feet and two giant fluffy ears. The funniest part was the blue bowtie that sat snugly around his neck, clearly to ensure everyone knew that this rabbit was a male rabbit. Taehyung circled the bunny and fell in love instantly with the white tail that looked like a cloud attached to its butt.
"Hey!" the bunny did not sound like a happy rabbit as he turned and swatted Taehyung away.
"I love your costume." Taehyung said, ignoring the obviously irritated bunny.
"Yeah, thanks, I don't."
"Oh come on, you look great, those ears are amazing" Taehyung reached his orange gloved hand up and flicked the right ear.
