The sun beamed down, it was the hottest summer on record and places like the 'Slip N Slide' were heaving with young adults, trying to keep cool.

Tae and his friends were regulars, they knew the inflatable obstacle course like the back of their hands and took the greatest pleasure in competing against each other all the time. They were a group of friends from university, the summer break a welcome distraction from their academic lives and what better way to spend their day than lazing around a place packed with water.

The advantage to 'Slip N Slide' was that they were the only establishment in the area who seemed to hire the most drop dead gorgeous lifeguards who sat up high on elevated plastic chairs. The group of friends had been to a few pools and water activity venues but the lifeguards here were the hottest so this was their venue of choice, for extremely shallow reasons.

For the last month or so, a few of the friends had been eyeing up several of the lifeguards and so far two had been successful in getting phone numbers at least. Jimin had won Yoongi over when he wore a plastic shark fin and scared some people in one of the pools. He had been batting his eyelashes at the blonde lifeguard for weeks and finally got his attention with the stupid prank. Jimin had been smug about it because his friends had told him that it wouldn't work but when he had returned with Yoongi's phone number and a planned date, no one could take the piss out of him any more.

The other member of the group who had been successful was Jin but he hadn't intended on anything happening at all. He wasn't that keen on water and tended to spend time in the shallow parts of the pool, which is what he had been doing on the edge of the rapids. His friends had begged him to join them as they were thrown around by the water and wooshed along by the current but Jin was happy watching. Things didn't go to plan though and a rogue wasp buzzing around his head had sent him into a panic and forgetting his surroundings he ended up falling into the rapidly moving stream, instead of climbing out onto the grass. He really had been drowning even if his friends say otherwise, when Namjoon pulled him out and laid him on the ground.

It was the moment he had finished coughing and spluttering, opening his eyes and seeing Namjoon that he tells everyone he thought he had died and was staring into the face of an angel. The lifeguard had assured him he was alive and Jin's response had been to ask him for his phone number as his last words, just in case he did actually die.

Tae hadn't been so lucky with the object of his affections and still the lifeguard he lusted after eluded him. It wasn't for want of trying though and he had been rescued by the cherry haired male only last week but even though he had specifically stated the need for mouth to mouth resuscitation, he hadn't gotten anywhere,

"Maybe you should just forget it and try another lifeguard?" Jimin suggested as they sprawled out on the grass near the rapids.

"Unless he is straight, I reckon he is just playing hard to get." Tae ran his fingers through his dark, curly hair that sat in waves framing his face.

"He is definitely not straight. I don't care how many times we see him with girls fawning over him, he isn't straight." Jin added, looking over to the lifeguard hut, hoping to see Namjoon.

"Of course they fawn over him, look at that body," Jimin looked away as soon as Tae glared at him.

"You keep your eyes on Mr 'can do no wrong' and leave the man who isn't mine yet, alone." Tae said rolling onto his back, shielding his eyes with his forearm.

"Better hurry up and make him yours before someone else steals him." Jin added, slurping on a cold bottle of water.

"I've tried drowning and I am not wearing a shark fin, so if you have any ideas, do let me know."
