October was the best time of year when you worked in a cinema and loved horror movies. Jungkook was that person who loved his job, loved horror movies, loved Halloween and loved October. He also loved darkness and solitude...
... solitude with his boyfriend... duo-tude?
Jungkook didn't care enough to explain it or think too long about inventing a word for it, he just did.
His friends used to complain that he spent too much time alone and they've spent the last 12 months complaining that he spent too much time alone... with Taehyung. Jungkook used to argue the fact that he didn't like people and now he argues that they don't like people... Jungkook's life had become plural.
Except when it came to horror movies and Halloween... Taehyung didn't like those things and after the disastrous date when he chose to be brave and watch a slasher movie with Jungkook... he vowed never to attempt bravery ever again.
Jungkook's life was the same but different one year on from that night he found Taehyung loitering in the cinema, reading posters to put off going into watch the zombie movie he'd been dared to watch after losing a bet. The three people he shared a house with were still annoying and overly dramatic as you would expect from people who spent their lives in and around theatres. They were very extroverted and sociable and Jungkook... wasn't. The house had become more of a hive of activity since he and Tae became official because Tae's friends linked up with the group, with the biggest surprise being that for months, everyone thought that Yoongi was after Jimin but then he said he wasn't and started dating someone else... but then Yoongi went on a date with Jimin! Jungkook couldn't keep up with it all, one minute he thought it was Yoongi making a move but then it changed and Jimin lapped up all the attention so Jungkook steered clear until the situation sorted itself out... which it was bound to.
"Will you be sneaking Tae in here again tonight?" Namjoon asks as Jungkook ties up the laces of his black, chunky boots.
"He doesn't sneak in."
"Why doesn't he use the front door then?"
"He does... when you lot aren't around." Jungkook grins.
"Okay... I'll rephrase... will Tae be entering via the back door tonight?"
"It depends on who's around." Jungkook answers honestly.
"Why can't you 2 just be normal like everyone else?"
Jungkook laughs, "You lot are not normal... whatever that means! You all want to talk to us if we come in the front door so we switch it up to avoid you."
"You aren't even going to invent an excuse?"
"No. I live with you so I see you too much as it is. When I'm with my boyfriend I don't want to talk to anyone and if the others are here, Tae won't want to talk to the people he lives with."
"You don't want to 'talk' at all." Namjoon giggles. "You both like to enter back doors."
As his cheeks turn a reddy shade of pink, he puts a bit more effort into getting his other boot tied up so he can leave for work. "I'll be back after my shift... don't forget it's your turn to sort the recycling."
"If you're bringing Tae back, we need to know so that we can go out or put our headphones on to drown out the live action porno."
Jungkook's eyes widen like saucers... no... like dinner platters.... And he nearly trips over as he hurries to grab his coat and rush out of the door. His friends all like nothing more than to discuss their sexual exploits and Tae's friends aren't any better but he'd rather not get into that. "Bye." He called out as he left the house, hearing his friend's laughter behind him.
