A Korrasami and Bopal story (Highschool)

Chapter 8: Gone

No POV
Opal used her air bending to clear the dust away. "So we finally get to meet the famous Mako and Kuvira," Korra said sarcastically. "I would say it's a pleasure, but that would be a lie," Opal said glaring at the benders.

"You brought this on yourselves, all you had to do was stay away from are Asami and Bolin. But it's obvious now that you won't ever leave them alone. So we have to get rid of you, permanently!"

The next morning

Asami had just finished her breakfast and was about to walk out the door when she heard her phone go off. She grabbed her phone, and to her surprise it was Bolin. "Hm, that's strange he usually isn't up at this time." "Good morning Bolin, I'm surprised you're up at this hour," Asami said knowing that Bolin hates mornings. *sobbing* "Asami." *more sobbing* "Whoa, hey Bolin what's wrong, why are you crying?" Bolin sniffed and wiped his tears. Which was no use because they were just replaced with new ones.

"It's *sniff* Opal and, and Korra. They're... they're in the hospital!" Asami felt fear surged through her. "THE HOSPITAL. What happened?" Asami ran out of her mansion to her car. "La-last night, two people broke into their home and fought them, and they got hurt real bad." Asami sped down the road. "Did they say who broke into their house?" Asami turned a corner to avoid a red light. "N-no, they've been out ever since the police got to their house." Anger wasn't even the right word to describe how Asami felt.

She wanted to find whoever was responsible for hurting her friends, for hurting Korra and put them in a hearse. But right now she had to focus and get to them. She parked her car and entered the hospital. She immediately spotted Kai in one of the waiting room chairs, she could tell that he had been crying. His eyes were so red it almost looked like he had pinkeye.

Kai looked up to see Asami coming towards him, he wiped away some more tears that were beginning to form. He got up and they both pulled each other into a tight hug. "How are they?" Asami asked as they both pulled away from the hug. "They're stable, but they have many broken bones, stitches, bruises, and burns."

All the anger Asami felt was gone. Replaced now with sadness and fear. "Come on, Bolin is with Opal and Jinora is with Korra," Kai Said leading Asami to the ER. Asami didn't want to imagine the state Opal and Korra were in. "They shouldn't even be in the hospital. Opal, Korra. I swear to you both I will find who did this to you and make them pay."

They enter room 077 to see Opal on the hospital bed with Bolin sitting next to her. She has bandages on her head, her left arm is in a cast, her clothes have spots of blood and small burn marks, and big dark bruises on her face and right arm. Asami started to tear up again, "Oh Spirits, Opal."  Bolin looked up to see Asami. Bolin's eyes were redder than Kai's, and the usual bright smile that he wore was replaced with a saddened one. Bolin got up and they hugged each other.

"How is she?" Asami asked "She has multiple burns, stitches, and bruises, her arm will be in a cast for three weeks, two of her ribs are broken and she has a minor concussion." Bolin started to cry again. "I-I just wish I could've done some*hic*thing. Or at least *sniff* been there when it happened so then they wouldn't be here." Asami hugs Bolin. "I know how you feel, but the only thing we can do now is be here for them, and help them heal." Bolin nods in agreement.

"Have you seen, Korra yet?" Asami felt her stomach sink. If Opal was this bad then, spirits Korra might be worse. "No, I ...haven't." Asami let out a shaky breath. "Come on, we'll go together. Kai, can you stay with Opal?" He put a thumbs up then sat down in the chair next to Opal as they left the room.

To tell the truth, Asami was scared. She wanted to see Korra but she was afraid to see the state she was in. As they neared closer to Korra's room Asami couldn't hear anything but her heart rate elevating in her ears. Soon they approached room 72. Bolin open the door and they walked in. Asami didn't want to believe what she was seeing. Korra had most of her face covered with bandages while the other half had stitches, burns, and a split lip. Her arm was swollen from the burns and stitches, while her right leg was being cushioned with a pillow.

Asami slowly walked up to Korra and started to sob. She couldn't help it, she didn't want to see Korra this way. "K-Korra, I-I'm so sorry." After some time Asami stop crying and just sat next to Korra. Bolin when back to Opal after Asami calmed down so it was just Jinora and her.

Time 11:18 mp

The group spent the whole day at the hospital. They didn't want to leave Korra and Opal, not again. Just then someone opens Opal's door. A lady with dark gray hair and metal necklace and gauntlets came into the room with metal soldiers and nurses. "Oh, my baby Opal!" The lady said and she lightly placed her hand on Opal's good hand. "Don't you worry, your coming straight home?" Straight home?

"Excuse me, sorry to be rude but who are you? And what do you mean "you are coming straight home?" She looked at Bolin and smiled. "I'm Suyin beifong, Opal's mother." "HER MOTHER!" And she chuckled. "Yes, and I'm bringing Opal back home." Bolin was 1. Shocked to see Opal's mom but also concerned.

"So she's staying home until she's healed?" Bolin questioned. "No sweetheart, after today's events my daughter and my niece will be staying home permanently." Bolin stopped in his tracks. "Stay home, PERMANENTLY!" She chuckles again. "Yes, my brother and I knew the city what's too dangerous for them so now they're coming back."

"Wait, please don't do this I know you're just looking out for them but, but..." But what? She was right. Korra and Opal got attacked and got severely hurt of course their parents want them home instead of in the city.

"Sorry Bolin but this is for the best." Miss Beifong said as she left the hospital with Opal and Korra.
