Chapter 5: Get over it

Friday

NO POV
As the Sun raised on Friday morning Opal and Korra were awakened by their alarms.

Time: 7:00 am

Opal POV
As I stopped my alarm I got out of bed and opened the blinds to my sliding window doors causing the sun to light up my room. Usually, the morning sun cheers me up in the morning but today I didn't feel anything. I felt... numb. Then I heard a ding come from my phone. I look to see notification was and it was a text from Korra.
Korra
Hey Opal I'm too down to go to school. I'm staying at home.
Opal
I know how you feel. I think I'm going to stay home too.

After that, I went to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth, and take a shower to try to clear my head. (it didn't work.) as I left my room the smell of pancakes, bacon, and potatoes filled the air. I walk down the steps and into the kitchen and saw Korra making us breakfast. "Morning Korra." I see you tried to hide my sadness. "Morning," Korra said as she flipped a pancake in the air.

I could hear the sadness in her voice, she must have been as sad as I was. We made your plates and ate our breakfast in the living room and watched "The Owl House", "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power", and "Steven Universe." Then we washed our dishes and went back to our rooms.

Bolin POV
Asami and I look at the door anxiously waiting for Korra and Opal which didn't go unnoticed by Jinora and Kai. "Wow, we have never seen you two like this before." Kai said, "Kai, what are you talking about we're acting perfectly normal." I said "Yeah, sure, if you call being perfectly normal staring intently at the door waiting for your two "friends" Korra and Opal." Jinora said with a little giggle.

Jinora and Kai were right whether we wanted to admit it or not. Then the bell rang, Asami, Jinora, Kai, and I were shocked. "I guess Korra and Opal aren't coming in today," Jinora said with a concerned tone. "But, why?" Asami said with a sad look on her face. "Maybe we should try calling them during lunch, to see if they're are ok?" Kai said. We all agreed and went to our classes. But I could barely focus and I could tell that Asami couldn't either. But throughout the whole school day, one question remains in my mind. "Why didn't they come to school today?"

Time 11:00 am

Opal POV
Korra and I spent most of our morning in our rooms. I was listening to some music when I heard a knock at my door. "Come in." I said as Korra slightly opened the door. "Hey Opal, can we talk?" Korra said in a soft tone. "Yeah," I said as I took off my headphones.

Korra walked in and sat on the edge of my bed and face me. " OK, Opal we need to take our minds off of Bolin and Asami. Are we sad that there already in a relationship, yes but we have to accept it and try to move on as best we can?" At first, I was surprised at what Korra had said but, she was right. Bolin and Asami are in a relationship and we can't change that so we have to deal with it. "Korra your right we shouldn't just mope around all day. We should do something fun. But what?" They sat there to try to think of something that could take their mind off their crush's

Then Korra snapped her fingers. "MUSIC! The one thing that always cheers us up is making music. So let's get the mic's and are headphones and make some music." Opal smiled "Yeah, yeah we could do a mashup. What was the last song you listened to?" Korra pulled her phone from her pocket. "Same Old Love, you?" "I'm a Mess. Alright, we got our songs now let's mash it up." After we finished the mashup we went to the living room to watch an episode of "Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts." Then a commercial came on saying that there was a carnival in town for the week and it was its last day open, We looked at each other and said in unison. "Let's go." So we went upstairs, got changed, and went out the door.
