Chapter Ten

The two Paris concerts are just as successful as Wembley Stadium and the guys are exhausted; looking forward to a few weeks break before they resume and complete the tour.
       For the first time since I have been with these incredible human beings, I spent some time on my own and went sightseeing for a few hours.
       I haven't been to Paris since I was a kid.

       I also used this opportunity to buy my Joonie a gift for his birthday. I know it's not for a couple of months, but it doesn't hurt to be organised and this is the first birthday we get spend together as a couple.
        I want it to be special.

       Back in Korea we prepare for four dates in Japan through July, the ticket sales go extremely well; another success.
       They release the Japanese single Lights, another great song and their 3rd this year!
       Their last official date for now is going to be Lotte duty-free family show on August 11th and just before it an announcement is made that the boys are going to take an extended break.
       As a parting gift Tae releases Winter Bear; an original song in English, haunting and beautiful.
      Joonie invites me to join him on a trip with his parents. Finally, this will be a chance to be a somewhat normal couple, at least for a little bit.

       The internet is rife with rumours of the end of BTS and one of the talking points is that fact that all members have to do national service at some time before they turn 28.
       This is still very much in the discussion stage with the members and talks are on-going  - nothing is about to end of that I am sure. They are mindful of their patriotic duty and are all happy to do their national service when required. It is not to say that we are not making enquires about their social stature and whether they may be able to have an exemption in the circumstances. It's just businesss.

       Everyone appreciates what has to be, will be. They will all complete their military service when the time is right; and measures will be taken to protect the BTS brand.

       Namjoon and I travel to Italy and I am, at last, introduced to his parents. I have never been to Italy before and Venice is so romantic, but I am a little nervous of course, it's a big deal.
       Namjoon felt the same when he met my parents, but they absolutely adore him.
       I was a little worried that maybe they would want him to settle down with a Korean girl and not accept me; but nothing could be further from the truth.
       Mr & Mrs Kim are lovely people and are very accepting of me and happy that he is happy.
       I can certainly see where he gets all his fabulous qualities from.

       They ask me to call them Appa and Eomma, I am honoured. This is acceptance of our relationship.
       Mrs Kim speaks very openly to me about her son, who has spoken to them and expressed his love for me and has complete trust that I will remain by his side. 
       Letting slip that he first mentioned me as far back as early 2018, months before we got together.
       I notice how embarrassed he becomes at this revelation.
       I cup his face and tell him, "I wish we had not wasted so much time skirting around each other. I am glad you waited until you were sure, but I would have said yes the first time I stayed with you; had you asked – because I knew then that I was in love with you".
       She even mentions grandchildren and Namjoon scolds her for being quite so forward before we have even spoken of marriage.
       Marriage...did he just say marriage???? Life has been so hectic since we met, we have never discussed such things.
       I know we are extremely happy as we are, but it does make me wonder what it might be like to be married to this beautiful man.

       Namjoon has to do a vlog for his trip, so his parents and I keep well out of the way and wander off for a bit together and chat.
       We watch from behind the scenes as he does his thing for fans wanting to know all about what he has done with his time off.
       As far as anyone outside the inner circle is concerned, I am just one of the production team.
       I have his parents' approval. I am ecstatic that's what is important to me – and spending time with my man, of course!
